So…….. no trade?
EK announcement when??
Soon: canes have signed TDA to an 800k 1-year deal
I’m not gonna get my hopes up but this might be the first sign EK is happening
Shit is about to start popping off
Maybe we told them that a trade wasn’t happening anymore… could that mean 👀
4D chess from the turtleneck to not give any assets for him? Let’s see 🤔
Lol no assets lost now. Go bring our boy home DW.
How is he gonna afford polishing those buck teeth?
I mean the dude is a pylon defensively but if we can get him for a bargain then its not the worst option hockey wise.
For those wondering what’s going on
The flyers get another buyout window because they were headed to arbitration.
So they realized they can buy out tony and his cap hit to them will be 1.66M this and next year.
The original deal would have put them at 2.5M against the cap with retention so this saves them money against the cap this year.
With tony being bought out he’s going to get 2/3rds of his salary paid to him. Will most likely sign for close to the minimum now with his 5M paid out.
Canes now can scoop him for nearly nothing and have more cap space to work the EK deal
No freaking thanks
All speculation at this point obviously but it really seemed like TDA was our backup plan if we didn’t land Karlsson. Hopefully this is a good sign going forward
What’s the backstory here? I know TDA didn’t play the last few games of the regular season in Philly but does anyone know if it was performance related or internal issues?
Walt Ruff retweeted the original tweet from the flyers saying TDA was on waivers…so I’m assuming we’re gonna get him as a UFA?
What if Montreal got him before us on waivers.
I’m psyched, I know Tony loses the plot when he plays anywhere else, but next to Slavin, he’s solid. I hope we get this guy back.
