I think the plan is for Smejkal to be in the bottom 6. I wouldn’t mind having Brady back with Norris and Batherson because those 3 were cooking in 2021-2022. And I’d think Giroux and Stutzle could help Kubalik get goin.

Lineup looks right based on the players we have signed, but:

    RW Depth: ✅
    C Depth: ✅
    LW Depth: ❌
    D Depth: ✅
    G Depth: ✅

  3. Lpreddit

Try to trade Joseph and Kubalik, bring in Tarasenko and a 4th line defensive vet on minimum.

  4. Really missing someone like Formenton on the 3rd line.. Fucking dummy

  5. DannoMalone

I really like it. If Norris and Cychryn are and can continue to be healthy, if Timmy, G and Brady can duplicate (or surpass) the seasons they had last year, if Kubalik can find chemistry on that 2nd line… I mean wow, that’s a hell of a lineup. And these are not unreasonable hypotheticals. If anything, I think Brady and Timmy can improve on last season.

Great if healthy, fucked if one or two key pieces get injured

Where did josh Bailey come from? I say stand Pat. Kubalik & norris will easily replace debrincats scoring. Joseph has to improve over last year and this defence corps is going to prevent a lot more goals than last year.

Smejkal was 7^(th) in points and 2^(nd) in goals in Liiga 2021/22

Smejkal was 6^(th) in points and T2^(nd) in goals in the SHL 2022/2023

Smejkal was definitely signed to play in our bottom 6. At 6’4″/223lbs, he’s a great LW for Pinto.

  9. Middle-Hair

Not a fan of signing Bailey.

It’s not like he was fine last year and just overpaid, he was pretty terrible. I’d rather try and get someone like Suter or Heinen, both guys are good bottom6 players and wouldn’t cost much to sign them at this point.

    1. Smejkal will play in the bottom 6.
    2. Kleven should be in the bottom pairing.
    3. We need to add either Tatar via free agency or trade for konecny to solidify our third line by either putting one of those 2 on the third line or to move down Kubalik.

Forward Depth is our biggest problem. We need to add another middle 6 forward. I’m not sure if I find Bailey to be the answer.

Heeeeeeeyyyyy, Josh Bailey. Ooo-ahhh. I wanna kno-o-o-w will you play 3rd wing?

  12. Ubuhio

The drop off in our forward group is so severe I’m getting vertigo

I’d bet 10k that if these pairings stay intact, by game 15 of the season, sandy and chicky are the top d pairing.

    1. Wait to see if Murray gets bought out. If so, add $1.3M in cap space.
    2. Sign Pinto to $2.8M AAV for as many years as he’ll agree to.
    3. Trade Branny, a 1st, and a 2nd to Philly for Konecny. Leaves us with under $100k cap space, but a full team, 13 F, 7 D, 2 G.
If Murray isn’t bought out, go to plan B, whatever that is.

  15. Science_Drake

Seems like a solid 14/13th place situation

  16. G-Henny

how do you create roster like this on cap friendly?

  17. lucastimmons

    Another year without playoff hockey.

  18. IGotTheBallsackBlues

I think Greig starts in the AHL. Give him top 6 minutes there at center. Call him up if Stutzle, Norris, or Pinto get injured.
