  1. Deangelo did great last season. Maybe the coach or GM doesn't like him, but he's a good player. He got them some wins in the first 25 games last year

  2. Because his decent PP scoring potential is HEAVILY OUTWEIGHED by his defensive liability 5-on-5 or on the PK. His high turnover percentage & habit of taking dumb penalties are terrible. He is a non-stop turmoil maker in the locker room, benched several times by the coach. Who would need or want that headache for $5 mil/yr ?

  3. You have to look at the Flyers' CapFriendly page. At the moment, they have 11F-7D-3G with a total cap hit of about $53.6 million. The have nearly $20 million in IR, long-term of otherwise, and nearly $6 million in dead cap.

  4. What hilarious is on Facebook they blame politics. And cry poor DeAngelo vs the guy is just an A-hole. But these are the same people that cry about cancel culture but then ban books , women’s rights etc. morons

  5. Is the poison worth a good player? Personally I like his play but we don’t see what goes on behind the game. Bought out twice just says it all. Anyone to ever play hockey knows what a player like that on your team does for the moral. Truth.

  6. deangelo is a huge cancer in the locker room. no one likes that guy. can confirm from someone who worked on a team he played for.

  7. It was a buy out, not termination, he stills gets paid by the club and is a free agent, reason they get to buy him out is because Cates did have arbitration rights but signed, giving them 72 hours to buy out any players they wished

  8. I think we're gonna witness free agency change completely and it should change our hockey history

  9. Way off of the Newhook contract take , way off on the Jeannot Contract take and way off on the Dorion being fired take .. you guys are fun to watch but stop the terrible “insider” takes.

  10. With how poorly the league is doing in regards to the cap, it blows my mind that anyone that actually likes hockey would question someone's love for hockey when this is brought up. I don't know if they have financial interest in Bettman having a job or if they're too immature to have adult conversations, but the fact of the matter is the league is in trouble and the cap is proof of that. I genuinely feel like the RSN stuff is gonna cause a potential lockout that might claim a full season like the 04-05 one did, along with potentially claiming Bettman's commish role as residual damage from it. Anyone who cares about hockey should be concerned about the state of the league, not attacking anyone with concerns. Fake fans would attack people with concerns. Real fans would be showing concern.

  11. As a fellow Philly guy, I know exactly what kind of guy TDA is. Him and Torts were a terrible fit, because Torts is actually quite a bit like TDA himself and neither could back down. On another team with a coach who knows how to handle him, he'll be fine.

  12. Sometimes I feel like these guys glorify the other leagues too much. Like the talk of the buyout being bad for the casual fan. The NBA has waivers too (how about a star like Russell Westbrook getting traded in a big complicated three team trade until to then get waived like a week later) and in the NFL, players, good ones even, get cut all the time and don't even get their money. Not mention that NFL teams time their cuts to avoid having to pay guys bonuses. I won't defend the NHL as a well run league, but the only thing the other leagues do better is make money.
