Stevens threw more bigger predatory/high hits. Kronwall crushed straight through the center of the chest.
short-and-ugly
Man Kronwall really had the « pop out of nowhere and throw a booming hit » down pat. The man has so many highlight reel, clean hits. And what a perfect name too. Great marketing

Kronwall hits had a tendency to look dirty because his momentum seemed to take him off his feet during the hit
Not saying they were all clean…

Stevens. All day.

Neither, Torey Krug on Robert thomas in game 1 of the SCF against St. Louis. He may be 5’9” but I gotta give credit where it’s due, guy’s built like a brick shit house. Wish he was still on the bruins

Stevens.

Stevens was the most intimidating hitter I’ve ever seen. Kronwall had the tendency to just come out of nowhere with a huge hit in big games, but Stevens was always lurking.

Stevens played at 6’2 and 215 lbs and played when hits were less regulated, so he was more free to make the hits.
Kronwall played at 6′ and 190 lbs and had the best defenseman since Orr backing him up, so he was more free to make the hits.
I think Steven’s had harder hits, but Kronwall had bigger hits because he timing was damn near perfect…that’s my cop out to not be such a homer anyways haha
As a homer….It’s Kronner all day, but I wouldn’t say that to Steven’s face.
