As far as Covid goes really didnt like Burkle purchasing Neverland Ranch while also panhandling for Covy relief handouts (the only pro team out of all big 4 US Sports….). Those two things happening at the same time was really really gross when a good deal of employees in the franchise were also getting let go.
Great take DK! Inspiration from Brasilian soccer fandom! You are full of surprises! Agree 100% = "Everything that Mario touches turns to gold!" To your comment about how lucky we have been with stars ask yourself a question like – "Who is the greatest Toronto Maple Leaf of all time?" Johnny Bower? Dave Keon? Daryll Sittler? Wendell Clark? How about Mario, Jags, Crosby and Malkin! We have been sooooo fortunate!
I'm typically listening during my morning shower, don't want to picture that! 😂
I grew up in South Carolina. I started watching the Penguins after seeing the mighty ducks movie as a kid and wanting to play street and ice hockey. The first stick I bought was a Koho street revolution with Mario’s name on it (by chance). Then I bought NHL 93 that show cased the Penguins and Blackhawks. Mario Popped up on the game and I was like that’s the guy who’s names on my stick and I started playing with the team and watching them on ESPN highlights. That was 1994. (cause I remember watching the rangers win the cup.) Been a Penguins fan ever since! Die hard from South Carolina and seen the Pens play in Atlanta, Raleigh (even the inaugural game October 3, 1997) , and Pittsburgh! Love the Pens! 🖤 💛
you bring up a very scary point. I hope this team can survive the next "x generation" times because we all know the future has been heavily mortgaged. I listen before my first meeting (8am everyday) from a transplant in Flyer's country. Really appreiate your work DK.
