Bruce's example of a plumber is not a well thought out example. Yes, a plumber works for 40 years vs a hockey player for 15-20, but a decent hockey player makes over 1.5 – 2 million per season – in a 15 year or more career – that's 25 – 30 million over that period, and that does not include promotional earnings or any post hockey career, which many of them have. In 40 years a plumber might make a couple million, but that doesn't factor in the many expenses they have to perform their job. Guys like Marner (if they want to win) need to balance their earnings with their team and it's need to be able to compete in a cap world.

How easy is it to be on Leaf podcasts? Nylander has 1 year left on his contract and then is an UFA. There won’t be a hold out Bruce.
Nylander has to be moved if he isn't signed, here's why..if you let him playout the season all he'll care about is individual stats for his next contract. He doesn't have a 200ft game to begin with and it will be even worse. Also, we can't continue to let players walk for nothing. If he isn't signed by the trade deadline at the latest get a high pick and/or a solid D for the playoffs
