Canadiens has always been a constant and always will be. Leafs have been up there ever since they started being competitive again and played the Bruins in 2018. Seeds were there in 2013, but felt like more of an aberration.
Hurricanes is probably up there now with recent playoff history. Would say Tampa, but that’s been too one-sided to be much of a rivalry.
Don’t think anyone else is really worth mentioning, and there’s probably going to be a significant change with the old guard aging out. Really only see Canadiens remaining at the top for sure.

Pens: Caps, Rags, Isles. Once upon a time, Flyers. Blue Jackets thought we were rivals, but they never measured up.

Use to be Detroit. They always smacked us. I wish they were still in our division. Hawks have and always will be hated. I like Colorado but not their mouthy fanbase.

This take is a couple years old now but pens and Washington had some truly epic playoff matches. Many times I felt our series against them was what decided if we won a cup or not, that team always had potential to stop us.

Pens

Devils
Flyers are a weird one though because it feels like our biggest rivalries change every like 10 years. growing up my dad hated the Bruins and Rangers (teams that have never bothered me) but when I was coming up our biggest was by far those great Devils teams of the late 90s early 2000s, and now the average Flyers fan would say the Pens.
Truthfully and painfully Philly might not be anyone’s biggest rival right now because we’ve been irrelevant for the last decade. Maybe in a few years we’ll be back in the mix

We’ve had some notable fun along the way with the Avs.
Our club has enough history that others come and go, but don’t really count as “rivals” for us long standing fans.

Rangers, then Devils.

Depends on who went where in what way during the off-season. Maybe one day we’ll have a true rival, but I feel that’s tough as an expansion team.
The best rivalries in sports go back decades to when those were one of only a few teams in the professional sports space. Red Sox vs. Yankees, Browns vs. Steelers, Ohio State vs. Michigan.

When Yzerman took over I think our rival was Holland and all those atrocious contracts he signed.
Now I’m not sure.

I feel like Tampa has kind of built a bit of a rivalry with half the Eastern conference. They just tend to play a chippy, annoying style and things get feisty.
