    Boston’s:

    1. Canadiens
    2. Maple Leafs

Canadiens has always been a constant and always will be. Leafs have been up there ever since they started being competitive again and played the Bruins in 2018. Seeds were there in 2013, but felt like more of an aberration.

Hurricanes is probably up there now with recent playoff history. Would say Tampa, but that’s been too one-sided to be much of a rivalry.

Don’t think anyone else is really worth mentioning, and there’s probably going to be a significant change with the old guard aging out. Really only see Canadiens remaining at the top for sure.

    Leafs:

    1. Leafs
    2. Habs
    3. Bruins

Lightning sneaking in there now. Sens and Canucks always knocking on the door

Pens: Caps, Rags, Isles. Once upon a time, Flyers. Blue Jackets thought we were rivals, but they never measured up.

  4. ImWicked39

Sharks, Red wings, and maybe the queens.

Use to be Detroit. They always smacked us. I wish they were still in our division. Hawks have and always will be hated. I like Colorado but not their mouthy fanbase.

    Back in day

Montreal Vs. Quebec City!! Slobberknocker Rivalry

  7. dexterthekilla

    Leafs vs First round playoffs

This take is a couple years old now but pens and Washington had some truly epic playoff matches. Many times I felt our series against them was what decided if we won a cup or not, that team always had potential to stop us.

    Pens
    Rags
    Devils

Flyers are a weird one though because it feels like our biggest rivalries change every like 10 years. growing up my dad hated the Bruins and Rangers (teams that have never bothered me) but when I was coming up our biggest was by far those great Devils teams of the late 90s early 2000s, and now the average Flyers fan would say the Pens.

Truthfully and painfully Philly might not be anyone’s biggest rival right now because we’ve been irrelevant for the last decade. Maybe in a few years we’ll be back in the mix

Wings: Leafs and Blackhawks are permanently pinned to the top of the list

We’ve had some notable fun along the way with the Avs.

Our club has enough history that others come and go, but don’t really count as “rivals” for us long standing fans.

Depends on who went where in what way during the off-season. Maybe one day we’ll have a true rival, but I feel that’s tough as an expansion team.

The best rivalries in sports go back decades to when those were one of only a few teams in the professional sports space. Red Sox vs. Yankees, Browns vs. Steelers, Ohio State vs. Michigan.

    Me personally. Probably Toronto.
    My Team. Definitely Toronto

  13. ScoopKane

    Flames. That is all.

People will try and manufacture outrage from long ago. But it’s the one and only for the Oilers.

  14. usafahut2

Wild fan, whoever the wild play in the first round

  15. gabehcoudgib

    Blackhawks:

    r/nhl

    r/hockey

  16. NorthernShark93

    Ducks and Kings obviously.

Detroit for awhile we use to smack them in the playoffs.

    Vegas for sure.

  17. LordOfTheWasteland6

Rangers. Is, was, and always will be.

  18. TheNewPlague666

When Yzerman took over I think our rival was Holland and all those atrocious contracts he signed.

    Now I’m not sure.

  19. scumbagstaceysEx

The entire rest of the Metropolitan Division except CBJ. But especially the Rags.

  20. 2shack

I feel like Tampa has kind of built a bit of a rivalry with half the Eastern conference. They just tend to play a chippy, annoying style and things get feisty.

OP found the lowest quality picture on the internet

  22. NoSignature7630

Lol, poor Blue Jackets, always trying to fit in! 😄

  23. biohazard842

Avalanche: Golden Knights, Stars, Blues (fuck Binnington) at the moment are our biggest rivals.

Historically, Wild, Canucks, Red Wings too.

  24. Reallyme77

    1. Habs
    2. Habs
    3. Habs
    4. Leafs
    5. Habs

  25. starwestsky

Tampa Bay and Ottawa (this one’s new). Traditionally we have hated the Islanders too, but that’s faded some.

  26. TexasYankee212

Rangers : the Islanders following by the Devils/Flyers/Pens.
