[If I weren’t a Flyers fan it would probably be this.](https://youtu.be/DfrZ1ite_IY)

    [But since I am, it’s this.](https://youtu.be/C9I7nRj6JjQ)

I brought my then-girlfriend, now-wife, to the second of those two games. It was her first hockey game. Afterwards she asked me, “Are all the games that exciting?”

  10. Grizzly_Addams

    Foligno’s superman punch.

  11. JerseySpot

    Unfortunately….. I was at Devils/Rangers game 6..
The messier guarantee game…….felt a little better one year later when Devs won their cup!

I watched Scotty get his pelvis broken while playing for the Aces during the lockout season. Cheap hit, early in the third, down 2. When it happened the place was dead silent. Emts get him off the ice and the Aces proceed to absolutely tilt the ice. Tie it up and take it in OT. The place was absolutely electric. Haven’t felt anything comparable since

First two Oilers Stanley Cup wins.

(Vancouver) I saw markus naslund score 4 goals in one game in 2003. I also saw a crazy comeback from 5-1 down to force ot vs the leafs in 2000. We lost in ot but it was worth it.

  16. Clean_Priority_4651

1998-99 playoff’s. Leafs scored 2 goals with 2:13 to play in the 3rd and take game two by a 2-1 score over the Flyers. Not historic by any stretch but we paid $300 each for seats right at the face off dot about 20 rows back. We were on the end where the goals were scored. Incredible bargain by todays standards where the same seats would go double that for a regular season Saturday night, and triple that for a first round playoff match. (Oh, and Leafs would win that series in 6).

Fortunate enough to go to two games in the 2011 Canucks run. Saw Burrows slay the dragon, and Bieksa put in it off the stanchion vs the Sharks, both in OT.

  18. toonman27

Historically speaking for the Penguins, I was at both Hornqvist’s and Bonino’s OT winners against the Capitals in the second round of 2016. That was an amazing few days.

  19. mudamuckinjedi

Not that great but I only go see a game live twice a year. But about I don’t know I want to say like 10 years ago I went to a Rangers vs. Islanders and Brandon dubinsky had a Gordie Howe hat trick.

  20. groaning_duck

Chi vs Det at Wrigley Field. Brent Seabrook sending Cleary on a quick flight over the boards and into the Hawks bench. It was a once in a lifetime event.

  21. zfron2120

The night the Bruins climbed up into the stands at MSG to confront a group that grabbed Terry O’Reilly’s stick as he was coming off the ice. Oh what a beat down it was!

  22. TrajanBeta

Leafs beat Detroit at the Big House in 2014…. along with 100k frozen souls

Gordie Howe driving Eddie Shack through the corner glass. Landed in the row in front of us! Olympia circa late 60s

Game 7 in 09 as a young Pens fan in Detroit. Best night of my life

  26. Superb-Possibility-9

At the Nassau Coliseum 1980 NHL Finals: I saw Bobby Nystrom score the overtime goal to win the Islanders their first Stanley Cup- Pandemonium!

  27. Not great but i was there the night Patrick Roy got humiliated by his coach and asked to be traded away from Montreal.

  28. FreakinB

2016 Islanders vs. Panthers, game 6. John Tavares scored the tying goal with less than a minute left in regulation, and the winning goal in double OT, to wrap up the Islanders’ first playoff series win in 23 years. The only thing that could’ve improved it was if it had been at the Coliseum instead of Barclays.

  29. SombreDeDuda

    Brett Hull’s good goal. 👍

  30. in-dog_we_trust

23-10-93 Toronto at Tampa set the record for consecutive wins from the start of a season.
I had a big sign but it was confiscated.
I also got to meet several of the players
    Toronto 2 Tampa 0
Felix Potvin was the winning goalie and Darren Puppa (claimed twice Fla and Tampa in the expansion draft)

  31. SawgrassSteve

Have only been to a handful of games live, so this great moment is likely relatively pedestrian compared to other stories.

I was at a Leafs at Panthers game in April of 2022. A large Toronto contingent in the crowd. Bobrovsky is having an off night. The Panthers go down 4-1 in the 2nd period. Bobrovsky is replaced in net and the Leafs fans are going nuts. The Panthers give up another goal. 5-1. Panthers fans think maybe it’s not our night. Mathews and Marner seem ready to beat the world.

The Panthers get a goal back on a powerplay goal. Then a short-handed goal by a defenseman.

Toronto fans are still feeling good. Panthers fans think, « Celebrate while you still can, the Panthers are going to pull this one out. »

Giroux puts one in the net. It’s 5-4 Leafs at the end of 2.

The Panthers score again to tie and then go ahead.

    **And can’t hold the lead.**

Tavares, who all game long has been acting like he’s skating in mud on old blades, scores on the powerplay for Toronto. 6-6. And overtime.

Back-and-forth action for 2 1/2 minutes or so and then the Panthers gain control of the puck.

Barkov stretches out to control an off-target pass on the left side of the offensive zone and finds a clear path to the net. As a defender moves in, he sneaks a pass to Huberdeau on the right side of the net, who puts the puck past the out-of-position goalie. Pandemonium!

  32. Jimlish

Chucky’s last second series clincher of this year’s ECF

  33. _Tranquil_Dude

Mario Lemieux scoring his last home goal before his first retirement.

The Igloo was loud as all hell.

  34. Roussy19

I was at game 5 of the 2008 Stanley cup finals. Detroit was in the lead poised to win the cup. It’s impossible to describe how electrifying that crowd was when they announced that it was last minute, I assume they did, you couldn’t hear yourself think. But that time right up until Pittsburgh tied the game was something else.

I was also at game 7 of the 2009 Stanley cup finals. 0/2 I’m going to cup final games

  35. LowConcentrate925

The standing ovation and tears at Saku Koivu’s return from cancer

  36. Neb-Nose

I was one of several thousand Penguins fans in the Joe the night the Pens beat the Wings in Game 7 of the 2009 SCF.

I did not expect that many Penguins fans to be there, but that was a hell of a showing for a road team in that spot

It’s probably my all-time favorite sports memory.
