Adds Seattle and Toronto to the list and says he has no preference. Toronto has a tough cap situation. Seattle is closer to winning than the Pensguins. Pens media say he doesn’t want to go to Carolina. Someone is lying.

The no preference line doesn’t land with me. He probably does have a preference, but he’s not going to announce that in an interview. But the snippets about the Pens are all positive.
I can’t see why he’d want to go to Toronto and deal with all of that shit there. If the Madden quote is true about Carolina, I guess cross them off. So it’s us or Seattle. Seattle would be a good fit for him, still on the west coast, young and rising team, just extended Dunn. But how much does Seattle want him? I believe Friedman even stated Seattle cooled off.
So hopefully this interview leads into some bigger news this week.
I think if both sides are willing to work towards a compromise it gets done. It helps that Pens signed a bunch of cheap 1 year contracts to buy time till the Cap is raised. TBH I don’t think we should expect to see the numbers he put up last year again. But that’s okay, imagine a defenseman putting up half that for the Pens, would still be a great addition.
As exciting as this is I don’t see how this could work. What’s the trade/swap? What’s the salary retention? Let’s see what Dubas does, maybe he pulls a rabbit out of the hat.
The real question is what was the date the zodiac sign woman said the trade would happen on???
