1. In the very beginning where the women dressed like Queens and the men dressed in their best business suits. Long before hockey jerseys were the clothing to wear at hockey games. I myself never heard of the Vancouver Canucks in their early years. I saw them on a Shoppers Drug Mart commercial in 1974. I thought that were called The Shoppers Drug Mart hockey team. Yes! That was when this hockey team wasn't very well known not only in the NHL, but on their own home soil too.

  2. This is way Seattle and Portland should get franchises and be in the Pacific division. Which would be Vancouver the two new teams mention San jose anaheim and La.0

  3. As painful as some Canucks teams were in the blue, green and whites in 70's, they did something the double-V teams didn't do:
have 2 winning seasons from 1974-76. The Canucks wouldn't have another winning season until 1991-92. The closest they got to a winning season beforehand was 30-33-17 when they went to The Stanley Cup final in '82, where they were dismantled by The Islanders.

  4. Loved following the Canucks in the 70's. Listening to the games on the radio was the thing to do. Hockey today is to saturated on television to be enjoyed. It was a treat once or twice a week back then to get together at someone's house, order pizza, and watch a game. I miss those days.

  5. Saw them them play in 1979 at MSG with the V neck jerseys. Glen Hanlon broke his stick over the cross bar after the Rangers scored on him. Just edged them out in Game 7 of the finals in '94. Always thought we were lucky to win that game, otherwise would still be hearing "1940"
