1st ballot HoFer, no question. One of the best two way forwards to ever play the game.

I’ll never forget getting a phone call at 2 am in Winnipeg in 2005. We had watched the game and were playing poker. « You have to get down to earls, don’t ask questions. » Me and my buddy’s were pretty much earls polo park season ticket holders/ boyfriends etc, so we ripped down there, the door is locked, call, door opens: whole world Juniors team and about 140 lovely ladies. Partied til 5 am, open bar. The manager had covered 2000 of tab and says there’s still 3800 owing, who’s already signed? Mr Bergeron paid the bill. Thank you Patrice, for a legendary night and for all the entertainment over your career.

All of the solid defensive forwards in the league just got a twinkle of hope in their eye

What a legend and a class act. I hope he enjoys his well deserved retirement.

    Has anyone checked on Brad?

He’s the only Bruins player I like and respect.

Now, fuck the rest of the Bruins except Pasta.

I’ll probably get some flack for this given the team I cheer for, but Bergeron was one of the only Bruins I truly liked and respected. Guy was a professional and played the game the right way, he was a warrior. And there is gonna be a huge hole in the best two way forward spot. The Selke award is going to have a new home, but finding someone as deserving of it as Bergeron won’t be easy.

Congratulations on a storied and incredible career. Best two-way forward ever.
