  1. Let me know your thoughts on todays news and rumours

  2. Folks better not discount the Coyotes this season, this team has quietly acquire several decent players during the offseason and I suspect they will be much better than most originally thought.

  3. I was beginning to think Dumba wasn’t actually gonna come to AZ. Honestly the depth is slowly, but surely building. The yotes are gonna be a sleeper squad this season.

  4. Will be interesting to see if the Sabres make a move or not. Levi looks like he has lots of upside. 🤞🏻

  5. Yet another great show now that this trade is finally done I she NHL teams opening up for business via trades or signings. Lots of free agents out there still that you can sign cheap or PTO

  6. Mraszk and Soderblom are just fine for what the Blackhawks are doing this season. Commesso and Stauber will be the Rockford tandem.

  7. I’m sorry but the Pens did not win this lol. Looking at last year, can you say they we’re Karlsson away from being contenders? They are aging and slow in a league thats younger and faster. This will screw them in the long run, they should have started a rebuild like 3 years ago.

  8. Gilbert was the main goalie in the 1979 playoffs when the Bruins faced the Mighty Canadiens, and allowed Lafleur's tying goal on the infamous "too many men" penalty. Gilbert was the reason the series even got to a game 7…he was outstanding after Cheevers was benched after losing games 1 and 2. RIP, Gilles.

  9. getting Peety back s strange! altho" Habs don t have a top Right D }} their D corp are a good bunch of young players— Mike Matheson s a solid D so Habs won that one! ++ Peety can be flipped………..goalies? i don t think Primeau fits in…

  10. Busy NHL news day, eh Mike!!!! Way to keep up with all the action.
Re: Dumba….. basically he's taking a 1 year "prove it" or "bet on himself" contract and I bet he's gone by next year's trade deadline or draft.
Re: Habs as winners….. absolutely!!! Pitlick went to Pens rather than SJ…. he's going to be a great addition to the Pens….a good 3rd or 4th line player. Habs could flip Petry and DeSmith or keep them and still come out of this trade smelling like a rose. If Petry gets flipped he wants to go to Detroit near his home so maybe Hughes and StevieY will hook up for a trade.
Re: goalies…..Monty could be just coming into his own….after winning gold at the WC a few months back his confidence is through the roof. He'll have a good season. I'd dump Allen if DeSmith is looking good. I'm NOT convinced Primeau is the Habs goalie of the future. The need to further develop their goalie pool.

  11. Montreal had guys they thought they could Trad at the deadline last year, too. Didn’t really work out for them then. Has fan thinks all those trade chips are worth #1 picks but most of them seem to stink or get hurt

  12. Would you do the following trade?

    Montreal Canadiens:

    Jeff Petry (50% retained), Jesse Ylönen, Jake Allen, Flames 1st 2025, Avalanche 2nd 2024, & Edmonton 7th 2024

    Maple Leafs:

William Nylander, TJ Brodie, & Dennis Hildeby

  13. I personally don't think the Goalie of the future for the Habs (read 3-4 seasons from now) is currently on the roster or in their system. But I think Monty/Jake is the best combo they can put together for next season, and I don't see them trading Allen until they have Monty signed to an extension. They want some stability at that position, and without Monty locked down, Allen signed through two more seasons provides that stability.
As for Goalies in general, the asking prices for Hart, Hellebucyk, and Gibson have to become realistic and then they start to move. Also when the season begins and Goalies get injured, then the market opens up, but I seriously doubt the Habs plan is to have 3 goalies on the roster. (And one on LTIR)

  14. The Pens trade won’t pan out , todays hockey is too fast for that aging group , teams like Buffalo and New Jersey are only getting stronger. The east will be another fun year to watch .

  15. Gilbert is known primarily as a Bruin and was in net for Lafleurs famous 79 ot goal. Guy dies and u cant even do a little reaearch?? How could u not know that??
    Embarassing
