  1. Dubas is such a breath of fresh air!! Aggressive and smart about it!!! This season should be a lot of fun😊!!

  2. As soon as I saw the deal this morning I've been waiting for u guys to come on..

  3. Absolutley biggest move since Kessel Karlsson way better player than Kessell

  4. Hes not going on LTIR this surgery was by choice likes Sids wrist surgery few years ago Then Sid came back fast

  5. I have a healthy amount of excitement. After all, he only had one good year in San Jose. Let’s see if he can stay healthy and play like he did last year.

  6. The good news about all of this, is that if this is a failure, for some reason, they didn’t give up a lot.

  7. Can they still get another player now they have 3 mil to spend ?!

  8. Pitlick could be the dark horse in this deal.
Kyle also addressed another priority today.
    The Penguins actually became younger!

  9. Maybe I'm just being a homer, but how can anyone say the penguins didn't improve dramatically? We didn't just get Karlsson, we also dropped Grandlund, Petry and DeSmith, 3 players I have little to no confidence in. I couldn't be happier with this trade

  10. You guys just picked up a great winger in EK. He is a very effective forward. Still not sure why he hangs back with the defensemen, though, he's not really good back there, but his passing and shot are killer!

  11. Been waiting for this all summer! Thanks Dubas for making this happen. EK please im begging please stay healthy!!

  12. I’m still a lil worried Burns and Karlsson didn’t work. Do we think Letang and Karlsson will work? I hope but idk I’m a lil nervous

  13. Sorry if this is a misunderstanding but is Nick Horwat from SteelTwins?

  14. Bruh. The BO of Granlund and SJ retaining only 1.5M instead of 3M+ is a wash. Stop touting that like it was that much of a difference. If EK gets hurt the Pens are the ones who got fleeced. But hyperbole is the only way you media types get any views.

  15. I can't believe Dubas pulled this ALL off!!! I'm really excited to see how this team turns out – but I'm NOT going to say we locked up another Stanley Cup – not yet. Can't WAIT for the Season to start!!Hopefully, we're going to be in for a few exciting days in Penguins Hockey!!!!

  16. It's such a breath of fresh air having Dubas in charge. Ron Hextall straight up does not have the balls to pull off big trades. He didn't as GM with the Flyers either.

  17. Dumping these bad contracts in exchange for Karlson is such a win imo. Hextall gave out some bad contracts.

  18. I wouldn't be shocked if Eric Carlson didnt renegotiate his contract with Kyle Dubas to create room for another good piece?

  19. Don't forget Matt Nieto as a depth scoring forward. The guy can put up 15+ goals as a bottom 6 player. He could move up to the 2nd line to replace Rust while Jake is out.

  20. The potential for the penguins top 2 lines is just ridicules, however who replaces Petry and Ruuta?

  21. Hopefully Pickering can somehow crack the line up and learn from guy's like Letang, and Carlson?? That would be very interesting to see the future of the penguins young defenseman learning from 2 of the best in the league. Lets go Pens

  22. Since EK65 waived his nmc to come to Pittsburgh, is that nmc clause gone completely now until the end of his contract? So if he is a dud he can be moved out to anyone

  23. Fleecing?!?!!? Lol you guys are hilarious. Blinded by a 100 point season from a guy who could barely manage more than 50 games a season due to injuries the first 4 seasons in SJ. Also, you are waaaaay over stating Dubas' success.
Also, "fleecing" was a term used to describe what Doug Wilson did to Ottawa when the Sharks traded for Karlsson. Ottawa now has 2 top-six forwards from that deal.

  24. Good addition but hes not a game changer Like yall making him out to be. Still a good trade imo. The more talent the pens have it seems the worse they do. Especially on the pp

  25. Don't see Karlsson on the 2nd pair. He is the highest paid player on the team. He is likely going to be on the 1st pair…

  26. I love the trade because it's fun, but this is difficult to call a "fleecing".
The Pens defending on the 2nd and 3rd pairs got significantly worse today, as did backup goaltending. They also gave up a 1st and a 2nd, and are paying EK + Petry retention 11.5M combined. The Granlund off-loading reduces that pain a lot.
EK is gonna have to be truly great to compensate for all of this though, and you can hardly call him a durable player.

  27. Hey, I love your channel. It’s very inspiring. I love the topics that you bring to the table and the way you present them in a solid, fair manner which leaves me coming back for more and more. One thing I was wondering if you could talk about or make a video on is about now that they acquired a Erik Karlsson and we are still 79,000 under the cap. With Jake Getzel, being on ltir which means when he comes back, we have to clear up 6 million in cap space. Which leaves me to speculate somebody is going to be out the door, but who could that possibly be? Is it Riley smith who they just acquired which why would you acquire him then? Is it Bryan Rust or they gonna move Jake Getzel? What is the play here?

  28. Bro, I tried every which way to come up with a scenario to free up space for Jake Getzel when he gets back from ltir. I’ve had an answer for almost any scenario you’ve given me, but this one’s been really difficult…… extremely difficult and the closest I could get wasn’t even good enough. But what I came up with was Noah Hanifin is 4.9mill. I suggested he get traded to Pittsburgh for Bryan Rust who is 5.5mill and Marcus Pettersson at 4mill hey second round pick may be a first. 5.9mill + 4mill is 9.5mill – Noah Hanifin 4.9mill =4.6 mill free in cap space and if you drop Jeff Carter 3.1mill u get 7.7mill so basically your leftover with 1 million. But no matter which way you swing it they have to free up 6 million for when Jake gets a little comes back.
