Dubas being Dubas, he does not build Stanley cup contenders. He signs high profile players who do NOT have the disposition to be ‘scrappy’ when it counts. NHL players MUST be gritty on their own AS A TEAM. Neither Toronto or Pittsburg will be around when the teams find their way past the first round. Much ado about nothing here AGAIN.
The NHL is absolutely ready for it, these guys are gonna bust and do nothing.

as a pens fan, we've already won enough in my life. if they don't make the playoffs, i'll enjoy watching the team put up a shit ton of goals and sid get another 100 point season

Hot take… Karlsson will regress primarily because he went from playing against lower calibre teams in the Pacific to better teams here in Pittsburgh. I predict under 70 points for Karlsson next season. Dubas always sees whats shinny and he fails to piece together good teams.
Idk how to feel about it it's either going to be unbelievably good or bad. just depends how it goes with Letang and him sharing top minutes
I’m calling it now this is gonna be the worst of the hyped up teams this off season. Just come back to this comment 8-9 months. Karlson injury cause he can’t have back to back healthy seasons, Crosby will get injured again a cause he’s soft now from all the concussions and Malkin will be alone with a bunch of bad filler players and letang is getting too old. I doubt they make the playoffs

im a huge pens fan, and am really excited about this trade….with that said I dont think it makes them anymore then a Stanley cup long shot….before this I thought they would struggle to make the playoffs. Still they have a big question mark in goal, Crosby and Malkin most likely aren't going to both be healthy all year again, and the bottom 6, while different is still way below what you see on cup teams.
They could make the playoffs, and they could get hot for a few rounds, but I dont see them as a real contender right now.
People dont realize we barely missed the playoffs and thats with a shitty bottom 6 and Jarry being injured the whole year. Jarry is now healthy, We dumped the majority of our bad players and replaced them with quality players and added KARLSSON to top it off. I think we'll be alot better next year thats for sure.
Sabres fan here! Sabres are going to be tough out for the next 10 yrs, we are deep. Having said that I would love Sid to get another CUP. Not Dumbas though
Don’t know where else to say this, but he shouldn’t have won the Norris. Yes, 100 points for a defenseman is impressive, but he had something like -31. That means he was on the ice for at least 131 of the 350 something goals against the sharks that year. This doesn’t indicate defenseman of the year, especially with when somebody like Hampus Lindholm lead the +/-for almost the whole season, mostly being kicked out by his teammates Grzelcyk and McAvoy. As you said, Pittsburghs defense is not gonna improve much, and Pittsburgh is gonna be the metropolitan Oilers
