  1. You guys are missing the real reason Montreal was the third team. It's Hoffman. If Karlsson is going back east, the Sharks looked right to Montreal right from the start. As you are aware of their issue when they played together in Ottawa. This means that for Karlsson goes to the east then Hoffman has to be going out west!

  2. Can't Montreal only retain another 25% of total (which gets to 50% of the original cap hit)?

  3. Not sure if Colorado has a reason to be in on Petry.. Already sitting at 7 D. If someone goes down I can see it, outside of that he has no place on the Avs.

  4. TO could get Petry at 50% retention to play with Rielly. Trade Timmins and a 2nd pick . Then trade Brodie for a pick or prospect. Rielly and Petry 1st D, McCabe and Klingberg 2nd D. Keep Lilligren for 3rd pair and try trade for a partner that hits like Lauzon 2m from NSH. Trade Kampf for Lauzon. Then trade a 1st and Robertson to PHI for Laughton a tougher 3rd line C. That makes TO way tougher to play against with out trading any core 4.

  5. For this to work the Oilers would need to give Ceci + their first round pick in 2024. I'd make the trade. Petry would play with Nurse. They aren't breaking up Ekholm and Bouchard.

  6. This will truly be the dumbest thing the oilers do! He did not work in Pittsburgh that’s why they traded him back. I’m surprised he’s even in the NHL at this point

  7. The Habs are not worried about trading Petry inside the division. They would love to face a guy like him every night

  8. Petry will be an easy trade but no need to rush it ..Kent doesn't like retaining salary so he will likely take back a contract around 2 mill and a pick and or prospect ..

  9. Petry doesn't want to play out west! Bet Edm is on Petry's no trade list. Detroit!

  10. can't see petry in edmonton. he wants to be somewhat close to home. that's the detroit area. but i'm not sure the wings are the best partner. i would try the sabres. it's not that far.
