  1. Aw, thanks. I'll try to keep bringing not-stupid questions. I appreciate how early you get these episodes out, by the way–impressive that you get them out when it's still morning over here in the European time zones.

  2. How should/do I accentuate my strengths if the thing Im best at is a net negative to society? Ill take my answer off the air

  3. So, this is kind of a reskin of the same question, but my question is what would the consequences be if the Penguins treated the RHD and LHD as separate entities? For example: you have Tanger and Karlsson take their long shifts, as well as Ruhwedel play when he needs to, while allowing the other side to switch lines whenever they needed to? Would this cause chemistry problems?

  4. DK, been listening for quite a while. I want to thank you for ALL your commentary on the Penguins. I sit down at 7a.m. Mon-Fri with my one cup of coffee in my Penguins mug and start my day with your thoughts on our team and about the greatest game. Thanks again 👍🏻. GO PENS!!!

  5. I have a question. I’ve heard Tomas Tatar being available. With Guentzel being out, would you offer a PTO/sign him? If so, where would he play in the lineup? Would he play with Crosby in the first line?

  6. Hey DK,

[I actually have a pretty unique name but you can call me Joe if you use this. Sorry.] here: My one year old daughter and I listen to you as we begin the day with a diaper change, a coffee, fresh diaper and a smile.

Your voice and your guitar riff make her light up almost every day.

    Down to it:

Who plays their offhand between Tanger and Karlsson when they inevitably end up together, even if it’s temporarily?

It’s simply a matter of time until we need a goal with 90 seconds left, we just get caught on a bad change, or (gasp!) sully wants to just try something out.

Logic would dictate that Letang is stronger defensively, and should therefore be more trusted on his offhand in the defensive zone. But offensively, being on one’s offhand presents a better angle to put pucks on goal…

I would argue the exact opposite. Letang has developed a one-time slap-shot (since he stopped putting it 3 feet too high) that is at least comparable to Karlsson’s. I also think Karlsson is a more naturally gifted distributor of the puck and is better at “walking the line” the same way Gonchar made a career out of.

Why not just (if play and chemistry dictates) play one of them on their off hand? I’m sort of joking but if you give up 3 goals a period, that’s not ideal. But if you consistently score 9 goals in the same time frame? Show me a coach that wouldn’t hate to love that.

My question is; who plays their offhand and why?

I love the shows. You’re a household fixture.

Also, you’re an absolute animal! Take some time off before everything starts!

  7. What kyle dubas has done so far has been promising. Imagine what dubas could've done if he didn't have 2 fix hextalls bad trades and poor cap management. But he created a buzz around a team that's been stale for a long while.

  8. When you said massive waste of talent watching the sharks and penguins I didn't know if you meant Sid and Co. Or Erik haha

  9. Dk. Who is the defenseman that dubas might trade for to solidify the defensive aspect of the blue line

  10. DK love the show! Can't wait to hear your take on the pens power play unit now that they acquired the Norris trophy winner! One question I have…with all the moves Dubas has made, would you agree or disagree that we still may need to pick up one more player that will benefit the pens bottom 6?

  11. I agree that they can use this as motivation like the Avalanche did with Bourque to help a truly great player and future HOFer achieve their ultimate reward. He seems like a good guy and a teammate that players who've been there, done that like Crosby, Malkin and Letang would enjoy playing for, as well as with. This could give them that little bit of a reason that might be needed from players who might not see the Stanley Cup as shiny and coveted as it once was when they were trying to get their first one. A lot went into this teardown and reconstruction of Hextall's ham-fisted mismanagement and it would be a huge letdown and looked at as a big misfire in Dubas' career if they don't at least make the playoffs and win a round at minimum. They aren't the Flyers (yet), and just getting there can't be the goal.

Let's just hope his new team doesn't waste his talent as well. Just because he's the new guy doesn't mean he should take a back seat to the long established ego's of the core players out of some favoritism. That's not how you win a cup. Good thing he's a defenseman and won't likely get marginalized like Iginla did at the forward position and forced to play in roles that diminished his capabilities and possible contributions like Blysma did by playing him on his off wing. As long as Karlsson's on the ice, I better never see Geno at the point on the PP again.
