Always the first whistle after 14:00, 10:00, and 6:00. Unless it is a whistle for icing or a penalty serve in progress.
And if a snow removal tv timeout does not occur until the 10:00 or 6:00 minute mark, the next timeout will be a minute after the serving timeout.
So pick up your phone and watch commercials…

I agree to a point. I hate commercials. I don’t have cable for this reason, but I wish they would just show the ice or stadium. They have things going on in the building during commercial breaks show that instead.
In Ontario the commercials are the same 6 ads every time.
Betting ad -> Skip the Dishes: Marner Edition -> Car commercial -> Expedia – Rogers internet commercial with the same actor as the Expedia one for some reason -> Remember that the Blue Jays exist! -> betting ad -> we’re back; here’s cabby to remind you to gamble on this segment.

Not gonna lie American ads are so shit, they’re so cringe. At least Aussie sports ads have a bit of character to them and don’t have people acting like 5 year old children reading off a script.
