PIT is way too old to be considered a threat in playoffs. They will all be too tired and injured long before they get there. They literally have 0 top six forwards under 30 and 1 good defense under 33. So glad TO did not do something so stupid as to get Karlsson. According to Eric Engels, the Habs are working on a Petry trade. Getting PIT to retain 25% is nice because if MTL trades him they can retain 50% and Petry will then cost $2.34M over the next two seasons. I also think that the addition of DeSmith means the end for Allen in MTL. Also with Hoffman and Pitlick now gone, it opens up roster spots for more young forwards like Farrell and company to get more playing time.
