This is a very interesting pickup for Ottawa. Boucher gives options for Ottawa. If they develop him to be paired with Tkachuk to put Batherson back with Stutzle or on the 3rd or 4th line, this could be a punishing offense down the board. As off the board as it is, still a good pickup.
I really thought we were taking Wallstedt or Lucius. I'm not going to lie im disappointed in this pick. We definitely could have got this dude in the second round
But I criticized the Pinto pick too, so I hope this works out for us.
If they were smart they could of easily traded down, picked up an extra 2nd rounder and still select him. The highest this guy was projected to go was 28th, and the lowest was 96th…
Sounds like a great pick from what I have read and watched so far, now we wait! Either the Sens scouting staff knew someone else was going to take him or he was ranked top 9 on the Sens internal draft list.
It's an interesting pick for sure. Hopefully, it works out for Ottawa.
It's also a perfect sort of pick to be an example of the areas of concern when it comes to how Pierre Dorian has run his drafts. You have to wonder whether Ottawa could have moved down and still gotten this player. Detroit was willing to move up to 15 in that deal with Dallas. Could Ottawa have still gotten this player at 23 and gotten a few extra higher draft picks from Detroit in a deal for Detroit to move up to 10?
I don't know but probably not.
Hopefully, we get to see this young man become a key player for Ottawa in 4 or 5 years down the road.
i don't understand why people are complaining for he like a Josh Anderson 2.0 and a mix of brady tkachuk those players are rare and are build for playoffs Hockey plus he a RW the position we have the least depth at i know people keep saying we need Centers we have Norris Pinto Paul white Logan Brown and Greig who all play Center.
I think he’s a REALLY exciting player. I like him a lot… I’m just not sure you take him at 10 with Lucius, Coronato, Lysell, Wallstedt, etc. still available.
However, that being said, I’m VERY happy to have this kid as an Ottawa Senator.
Stupid move. Maybe Boucher will become an OK third line player, but there were much better players available. Drafting Boucher over players like Matthew Coronato or Jesper Wallstedt makes no sense. Boucher was rated to go in the second round by most scouts. Ah, but he has character!!! That's what they said about Logan Brown five years ago when they drafted him 11th overall. I have yet to see this 'character' pan out.
I agree what Darian did, they do need another grit forward and they even have Ridley Greg, now they have more toughness in the forward group, next draft they should get another centermen, that will help a lot

Who is that
Off the board pick but he'll prove his value reaaaaal soon. Some physical and dynamic support for Tkachuk and the Sens!
Dorian needs to be fired asap, soooo unacceptable
lol mentioned Amadio, they aren't keeping him around
They must know what they’re doing, good luck Ottawa
I trust the Sens scouting a ton they have been great in the last couple years. Sounds like the guy plays a similar game to Tkachuk

Sens are great Drafters so I trust them. And a lot of off the board picks were taken after him anyways

Solid
Dorion seems to be a pretty good judge of hockey talent. I sure hope this Boucher guy pans out.

🤣 he is not happy that Ottawa selected him
Dorian moment

Lmao Josh Anderson is his comp 😂 that's tuff
Worst pick of the 1st round
Don’t know what to think about this, I guess only the future will tell
Ottawa sucks
Guy Boucher’s son.
🙄😤😡🤷♂️ whatever. I forgot for a day who our gm was.
Nepotism
0:45 Jake Sanderson fired up in the background 😂
The "Whooo??" in the background was hilarious. Not good when even the room of draftees dont know who he is.

Im sry for you Senators Fans
When you draft a buzzsaw on skates, I have no issue with that. He's going to be a finisher, on the scoreboard or checking.
Melink is gonna f*** it up

Weird pick , off the board, your supposed to pick the best player
What a waste of a 10th pick this kid is 🚮
