  1. He hasnt played a game yet relax with that lol neither has bedard stop the hype until these kids play there games

  2. This guy lost to Fantilli for the Hobie Baker.. I really don’t get the overblown hype..

  3. Im totally on board for this. It is almost tradition by this point for a slightly older top prospect to steal the Calder from a consensus pick. Just like ovetchkin taking the Calder from crosby. Does this mean that cooley will be the better overall player eventually? Maybe not every "generational talent" actually pans out.

  4. I think he'll have a career similar to keller. That said, he still should have been number 1

  5. My view was Cooley was returning to the Gophers shortly after the arena vote failed. Yotes got slandered and bagged on and were poked at from everyone and relocation rumors was peoples reaction to the vote results.

After the draft, seeing the Yotes amass 12 new prospects and seeing how excited they were for their picks and addressed their needs too Yotes and their feel like it’s a slam dunk from the 23’ draft. There were a few who did not approved of the Yotes top picks due to lack of info and scouting on those players in Russia. But definitively and reportedly for anyone who did get a real scouting job on those picks the Yotes picked 2 very highly rated and impressive players. Kevin Weekes of NHL thought Simashev might go to MTL at #5 but they took Reinbacher. As for the giant shooter Daniil But (pronounced as boot) he was ranked #7 by elite prospects or some major prospect ranking network. Yotes we’re 1 of 2 teams to scout those kids in person and fell in love with them no doubt and if the scouting opportunities was equal it seems little doubt that the Lokomotiv players would’ve been highly rated and projected to go right where the Yotes took them except But who may have not been there at 12. And they gota top Goalie prospect and even more goalies drafted and picked up after the other giant Hrabal.

So development camp comes the 3 1sts from last year are healthy and the new picks assimilate into the team. Let’s just say this development camps skill level was very high and at a different level from previous years. The quality and quantity is the best it’s ever been and there were top prospects not even there.
*Cooley got to be with the team and play with them and that’s where the mind changing noticeably occurred*
Cooley was reported by GM-BA the best player there he dominated and produced numerous highlights. He got to gauge who else is there and on the verge of making the team soon and later on in the future. Cooley got to be closer with the staff, management, and coaches. All reports indicate the Yotes coaching staff receive high remarks from current and former players. As the Yotes had returning players in Gree Agency n the team has no Pro arena yet so that speaks volume on how Coach “Bear” is viewed. GMBA is also a guy who impressed on videos and in person does really well in communicating and composing his plan and vision, his decision making has been outstanding and fulfilled all ammunition needed in a rebuild all the Yotes need to do is just pick in drafting and shop in free agency no more bad contract pickups.

Yotes effectively won over Cooley. The lineup and additions show the Yotes will be deep in regards to their forwards as they’ll have 4 effective lines. Which is a reason Cooley would want to come he won’t be asked to carry his line or the team. There aren’t top tier forwards on the Yotes YET but they are decent young and promising with plenty of players in waiting and developing to not only give the Yotes a full pipeline but provide a competitive lineup to make only allowing elite players to make the Yotes at this point. Cooley saw all this and became more excited to be a Yote than Gopher.

Besides Gophers lost all those players to the NHL and other teams are coming much more stacked and higher rated than the Gophers. It’d be safe to say it would be harder this year to replicate their previous success and other teams are more likely to win than them.
