How is seider a steal at 6th? A top 10 pick can’t be a steal imo.
sogladatwork
Bertuzzi late in the 2nd is a bigger steal, for sure. Seider was a coup, no doubt, especially considering how many at the top of that draft are looking like busts.
But how often do you get a game-breaking winger (even a brain-addled one) deep in the 2nd?

Should be Larkin
prestigiouspillowpal
I think it’s datsyuk.
DetroitRedWings79
That’s what I said in the thread. Sure we drafted him at 6, but NOBODY had in going in the top 10. He was projected to be a late teens/early twenties pick.

I get everyone likes Zach benson, but the hype has gone too far imo. Everyone penciling him into hall of fame already
PoopSlinger23
Draisaitl a steal at 3? I mean dude is phenomenal but it’s not like Ekblad or Reinhart were whiffs. All 3 are great players.

These 2023 draft picks shouldn’t be on here, no rookie is a guaranteed success
Single_Expression499
Ah was gonna say Datsyuk is the easy one for Detroit but it’s since 2010

Agreed. Bert is great and I wish we still had him but Seider seems like a generational talent.
JiffTheJester
Larkin more value I’d say..

Lol at Philly
tyler_davis34
I know he hasn’t established himself, but I’d go as far to say that Elmer would be a better selection.
CursedLemon
It’s absolutely Seider. Who predicted Seider would win the Calder *except* Yzerman?
Dakens2021
Zetterberg at 210 in the 7th round? Datsyuk as another one. Hell even Lidstrom at a pick in the mid 50’s.
LogieThePerogie
IMO for vegas it shouldve been Pavel Dorofeyev
Aiomon
Weird to call a 6th overall pick that ended up being good a steal.
nickpegg
*since 2010 – I missed that at first
ThadMasterBlaster-1
I don’t think you understand how they are using the word “steal”
nem704
It would be Mrazek 5th round 141st overall
palpytus
Shesterkin and Kaprizov are honestly the two biggest steals on this list
JerbearCuddles
Lane Hutson has played, checks notes, 0 games for Montreal. Sooooooo, yeah.
