  1. Is this the most Michigan teamever? MI natives, spartans and wolverines!!

  2. Is Chiarot really less a liability than Albert Johansson? Why not give the kid a shot. He's been looking strong in GR and isn't unfamiliar to RD.

  3. Which defenseman that they have signed in the past two years will they have sitting in the press box. Starting to think at least Johansson will never be a regular on this team.

  4. The only and I mean ONLY reason Alex Debrincat is a Red Wing is because he held a gun to Ottawa's head and said trade me to Detroit or lose me for nothing next off season. The return they would get at the deadline next season would have been worse than what they got from Detroit, and what they got from Detroit wasn't a fair return for a player of Debrincat's caliber. That should be a cautionary tale to any GM giving up so much for a single season.

  5. Petry played 20minutes plus for the Penguins and 25 plus points and has had several years at 40 plus points – he is legit second pair (he has played with chariot in Montreal)

  6. We still have training camp to go. I seriously think Holl, Petry, and Ghost are about to change this team for the next decade.

  7. Wasnt brought up but I think special teams will play a big part in who plays, more so the PP. I think the legimitate options they now have for PP QB is Ghost, Seider, and Petry. Maybe Walman but he seemed to be an emergency option last year. I really think Ghost has at least one of those spots but will be interesting to see how it plays out.

  8. Every reaction other than my own on my Twitter feed has been telling everyone to calm down. I was asking questions of how the d crew would work with seven guys and a few being overpaid for where they might play. But I wasn't even being negative. I was just trying to understand. But I didn't see people freaking out.

  9. I have to turn it off whenever the conversation of "should we have tanked" comes up. No.

  10. Petry and Ghost will be the second pair. The two thumpers will rotate in and out with Maatta on the third line.

  11. Great show, gentlemen. I'm looking forward to watching the Wings with the Pistons and Lions this season. I've been a Bolts fan for years, as those last Holland years were too much for me. Looking forward to seeing improvement this year in Detroit. PS much better here than Woodward Sports or 97.1 (never).

  12. Wondering if Petry kind of fell into their laps here. Might there be some thought that the previous chemistry with Chiarot ups Chiarot’s trade value if they are looking to move his contract???
Truth be told, didn’t finish the episode yet. Was just a thought I had.
Happy for the upgrade and cool story.
    Cheers, guys.

  13. 25:51 – "A very old team coming out of a rebuild". Statements like this cause me to hit the pause button. The Wings have the 6th youngest roster in the league.

  14. The winner in this business is the human side of pro sports. All credit to Kent Hughes as Habs GM for pulling off the deal. Petry chose to be the less grown up in the deal when he chose not to acknowledge Kent by name during Petry's RW interview. but only the title of the person. RW lost nothing and they gain nothing as Petry is at the end of his career and at best they have a rather expensive 7th reserve sitting in the press box here. Most likely, S.Y will make another deal before that window closes.
