@Bruins de Boston

  1. "The NHL had literally never seen a team like the Boston Bruins". Yeah, in two metrics – regular season points and wins. But in an 82 game season where ties weren't allowed. Nope, the best team the NHL had literally ever seen was the 1975-76 Montreal Canadiens who had a better goal differential and only 8 losses (Boston had 12).

Not only that, Montreal would go on to dominate in the following three seasons and win four Cups in that period with a 48-10 record over those four post seasons. No, the 2022-23 Bruins were very good but let's put it in perspective: they established two regular season records but to put them among the greatest teams or to suggest that the league had never seen a team like them is a huge stretch. OTOH, maybe it's right – the league had never seen a team establish a regular season points record and then go out in the first round. Certainly, the Habs never did that.

Good vid though – I'm being a little cheeky here.

  2. We up in Boston heard about some of the things that happened behind the scenes:

Ullmark got hurt about a month before the end of the season, and somehow the goalie coaches went from alternating goalies (to give Ullmark rest) to putting Ullmark to start every game except for Game 7. Headscratcher.

Monty (Jim Montgomery) had a mental lapse when Bergy returned and slotted him with the wrong line.

Ully had a mental lapse in OT. Not sure what he was thinking.

The game winning goal in Game 7, the Bruins weren't just physically beat, they were mentally tired, and weren't thinking about coverage.

  3. The turning point was that game five OT goal. Also I disagree with your take that starting Swayman in game seven was the wrong call. Ullmark was hurt, and anyone with eyes could see it. Except for Jim Montgomery.

  4. Go look at that March 29 Panthers-Leafs game. They were down 2-1 with a minute left, and Florida is 36-31-7. If they lose that game, the Panthers miss the playoffs entirely probably. A 6 game winning streak was what got them in.

  5. I don't know that you can really call Swayman going in for game seven a "seed of doubt" when Ullmark was visibly hobbled in game six. If anything, pushing on with Ullmark when he already looked shaky in game five was probably the bigger error.

  6. Some people clearly lack the ability to process the concept of parity. The NHL is known for its parity

  7. Best season of my life as a Florida Panthers fan. What a ride it was, not a bad year for my first full season of season tickets either! 💪🏼

  8. I can’t watch this again dude, I love your channel but I love the Bruins more. This is the most debilitating moment as a sports fan I’ve witnessed. And to lose Krejci and Bergy after that finish, agh, I can’t talk about this

  9. I was at this game when the panthers tied it with under a minute in regulation I looked to my friend and said “we just lose the series”

  10. U also shoulda mentioned that the pens lost to both the jackets and Blackhawks near the end of the season which put them 1 point out lol

  11. as a bruins fan i was glad that the panthers went that far they deserve it go bruins go panthers

  12. Biggest Choke was the leafs in 2013 game 7 vs boston where they were up by 4-1 with 10 minutes left and then lost in OT 5-4.

  13. As a Bruins fan, I have never seen my team forget how to play Bruins hockey quite like they did in games five through seven. I have no clue how they went from dominating games three and four to being scared reckless and skittish with the puck in a way that they weren’t all season long. Not to mention the fact they had some of the weirdest flu Kiest worst luck imaginable all series and you have the recipe for what is at least as a Bruins fan the very incarnation of pain

  14. Panthers were a better team than their record showed. I still think Tampa losing in 4 to Columbus was worse. At least the Bruins showed up to half the games.

  15. It is too bad the Bs didn't move on… Could have been an epic run to end their era. — I don't like the Bruins, but they could have grown to make for an unreal Cup final.

  16. This SHOULD happen in the NHL. Its what makes it great. I dont want the stanley cup winner chosen in April with the playoffs just being a formality.

  17. I wish Hockey Psychology would use a relevant title on their videos that isn't some clickbait headliner instead of what the video is actually about. How many of your titles begin with the word "This…"

  18. How many videos have you done that end with a question mark? Please go next level.

  19. Playoffs are like no other for sure. I was shocked that the Panthers had the run that they did in the playoffs.

  20. Lol lets just put this to rest. If Bergeron hadn’t come back for games 5, 6 & 7 then Boston wins. Since he played those 3 games, We’ll you know the results.

  21. Just the most delicious, amazing, upset! BEST EVER!!! Boston, how did the karma taste?

  22. Watching them go down 2-0 and then to come back up 3-2 only to lose it… it was like reverse 2010 😂
