Lee scores 20+ a year but there never in a must score situation. Lee hit his ceiling so No. Between age, lack of speed and stick handling, he's only a net front guy. He does more harm than good on a Horvat Barzal line.
3 more yrs at 7 million for a 3rd liner is a costly error. How can a guy score 28 meaningless goals a year?! Can we sell 28+ with "leadership" to another team???

We need to find a balance. Playing 4line defense isn't going to work. I mean, if Wally can become what we all think playing with 13-14, and have 29's line continue to score, we need to give them a little more freedom to create goals. And by changing up the D pairings, that can allow some more offense without giving up a great deal of defense. It's not sacrificing ALL the defense for offense like last year but finding a good balance is a must.

maybe had to do more defensive things during last ten games competition for wildcard and playoffs? other teams compete much harder for end of season push and playoffs
have players do as much as possible on their own during regular season, then for playoffs have coaching staff take charge more

slowly trade older players (to teams needing veterans for mentoring and Cup run) for cap space and youth movement?

He just needs to find his place in the offense. Lambert shuffled lines so much last year that nobody was comfortable except the 4th line! Isles will never with with this coaching staff. I think they were hired because they'd work for peanuts! Complete incompetence!
Good to have you back, Gil. I would be more excited for the coming season if Yoda and MacLean were off the roster, but it is what it is. I doubt this bunch is a serious contender. They will be good enough to miss out on a top pick, but won't threaten to win the cup. With how Yoda has laid waste to our prospect pool, I pity the GM who has to clean up his mess.

Hope you’re feeling better Gil!! Lee is a real great guy—I feel if he wasn’t so depended on, he’d be fine. I feel he wants to carry the team on his back sometimes. He’s pure heart. He’s no longer a 1st liner—-think he has something left. We shall see Gil!! Take care!!
