The only place the league should expand in canada is the GTA.
The attempt to grow the game on non-hockey markets is a valid long term strategy and is working to some extent. As evidence by Auston matthews being from Arizona.
Is league growing as quick as a should no. But considering the it started from basically zero in many markets it’s not been awful either.

I don’t understand people who crap on Canada for not winning the Stanley cup? Jokes like, * »Canada hasn’t won the cup since 1993! Lawl, »* but to be fair… there are only seven teams in the NHL who are located in Canada so the odds aren’t in their favor.
The fact that more than one Canadian hockey team makes the NHL playoffs is pretty impressive in itself.
Not to mention there are a ton of Canadian players playing on American teams.
