@Sabres de Buffalo

If Bufalo has any future success, you can make an argument that it was mutually beneficial since the Eichel/Sabres relationship was obviously toxic. So win/win.
They both won.
Buffalo was in need of a fresh start..nothing going well for them..terrible time for fanbase. Pat Brisson got involved and helped move everyone off a stalemate of a situation. He was able to get a conversation going and the result was getting Eichel the neck surgery and a trade for a much needed change of venue for the young superstar.
Buffalo got some quality players and reinvented their team identity in the process. Enthusiasm has been great to see.
Vegas brought in a talented player that fit nicely into n already well structured team and a management which unrelentingly envisioned the ultimate outcome of excellence. Pretty satisfying.
Tony, look in the mirror and fix your hat.
Vegas clearly won the trade with buffalo for Jack Eichel because he has a Stanley Cup buffalo hasn’t made the playoffs in over a decade and they’re still not gonna make the playoffs coming into this year in with the same story they’re gonna start off hot they’re gonna be so good at the start and then they’re going to start doing very poorly like they always do and then it’s gonna be a fight to get in the playoffs and then they’re not gonna make it
obviously it wan't Eichels fault the Sabers sucked. buffalo wins a cup in the next 5 years its an even trade.
For the guy in Pennsylvania, ESPN+ does all out of market NHL games. I watch VGK through that. Also, in general, Apple TV does not do local channels
3 layers too peel pack…you're kidding with respect? You missed a couple. Simply stating point production isn't even close to making a compassion. Eichel's 200ft game & defense is light years above Tuch's, and it's that type of play that wins championships. If it was a about point production, Mcd & Drai in EDM would have a cup already. I didn't see Eichel much here on the west coast(before the trade), and I had no idea he had that capacity. I'm a Kings fan here in Vegas, but Eichel became my favorite player watching him this season, and his playoff performance only cemented that. He as good as a two-way player as you're going to find in the league. Speaking of Tuch, nice player, but point production is a lot easier when you don't focus on the two way game(Buffalo's as a team), and you have no expectations. Lots of players in the league put up points on teams that doesn't correlate to wins not playing the two-way game. Lastly about the two, does Vegas win the cup with Tuch, no way. Eichel brought a dynamic that played a huge role putting Vegas over the top. I mean, nothing else matters but winning the cup-right!
Btw: I always looked at Krebs & Cody Glass as where scouting isn't a perfect science. Lots of expectation, no where the ability actually be elite NHL players. Vegas' managements ability has impressed me by admitting that internally, and admitting their mistakes and moving on from them is something other org's can learn from. My Kings seem to be learning from that with the trades they made this off season with some of the players moves who the last few years were more regarded than the performance we saw on the ice.
Who won the trade will not be determined for a few years. Pick # 16, Ostlund, received as part of the deal, was just glossed over. He is highly regarded however it will be a while to see how he pans out. Also, it might take Krebs another couple of years to determine what he will become.
Sabres fan here. First off, Vegas is a better team after the trade and it's part of the reason they won the Cup, no doubt. Eichel is great and will keep being great, though honestly, he has another gear, so I'm expecting multiple 100 point seasons and a solid chance he's hoisting another Cup before he hangs them up. Just being honest.
That said, Buffalo is also better off without Eichel, even ignoring what they got back in return. (As an aside, Tuch has become far more to Buffalo than just his points as well, he's probably going to have the A on his jersey and is on the short list for the C in the next few years.) I'm not even talking about the toxic environment that Eichel left (both sides share some blame here) when the trade happened. Trading Eichel gave Don Granato the opening to move Tage Thompson from wing to center. It took time for him to adjust, but starting around the middle of 21-22, he exploded. The returns in the trade are just gravy compared to what was unleashed.
Who won the trade? I hope both. It is way too early to tell, though Vegas being up 1-0 in Cup wins does give the fans a solid reason to believe they won the trade, no matter what the players that Buffalo got end up doing.
Lastly, wow, what a bunch of homers you all are. I thought Toronto fans were the worst. LOL. But seriously, congrats on the Cup, Vegas earned it.
Buffalo Sabres one the trade! " how many Future consideration future draft pick does vegas goldnen knights now 2023/2024 owe the Buffalo Sabres Dynasty & Organization!
Eichel's resurgence and the resulting bitter hatred from those poor Buffalo fans combined with Phil Kessel's Ironman achievement gave this team back it's MisFit identity at just the right time in the season. The return of Stone also cemented the VGK as the most hated franchise in the NHL maybe in NHL history and made them an underdog of sorts no matter their record….. The Eichel hatty in BUF was epic…..and it was then I knew this team was officially back and going deep.
The way Tuch plays for Buffalo he could of just as easily won a cup with Vegas.
