Nice take on the top Bruins, and couldn't agree more on Cam Neely. He was incredibly physical and also highly skilled, very rare to see these days.
I like the Chiasson PTO, why not? Solid veteran and might be better than a player like Greer.
Still think that the Bruins should look at possible Center solutions via trade – Mikael Backlund from Calgary might be a better (shorter commitment & more affordable option) than Elias Lindholm (huge money and 8+ year contract starting at almost 30 years old).
Why did the Bruins offer Chiasson a PTO? That's a fairly easy question to answer. Primarily the Bruins have no depth at RW, that's why. The Bruins have only one real Top 6 RW in their entire crap Farm System, Fabian Lysell, and all he's done since being drafted is go down in value. Two of the Bruins that will be playing RW for the team this year will be left wings playing their off-side in Debrusk and Frederic so again, the Bruins don't have any RW on the big club roster. Chiasson also keeps getting pulled off the NHL scrap heap for a reason, he's not very good. He's only averaged 8 goals a year the past 4 years while he's battled injuries as a 33 year old whose only getting older and slower. The last and only time he's ever scored more than 20 goals in a year was with offense happy Edmonton 5 years ago. If Chiasson makes the Bruins this year that'd be far more of an indication that Sweeney has done a lousy job of building their pipeline out than it would say anything positive about Chiasson himself.
