  1. As a Sharks fan since those early days at the Cow Palace I have my own personal favorites list here.

Favorite GM. Dean Lombardi because those late 90's early 00's teams did not have the most talent but they were tuff as hell to play against. That's my main knock on Doug Wilson is that his teams have high skill but lack grit. Yes there have been some gritty Doug Wilson players like Ryan Clowe, Douglass Murray and most recently Barclay Goodrow but compared to players like Mike Ricci, Brian Marchmant, Todd Harvey, Mark Smith, Tony Granato. Those are some of my favorite all time Sharks, I just can't say the same about many current Sharks.

Favorite Coach. Darryl Sutter is my favorite Sharks coach, but Peter DeBoer is a close second for his pure coaching ability. What makes Darryl Sutter my favorite all time Sharks coach is the same as Dean Lombardi. When I think of Darryl Sutter coached teams is grit! Whether it's those Sharks teams of the 90's to the Los Angeles Kings teams that won the cup its gritty hockey.

Favorite Captain. My personal favorite Captain is Owen Nolan, but a very close second is Joe Pavelski. When Owen Nolan came over in the trade for Sandis Ozolinsh those were some pretty dark days for the Sharks. What really won me over as a fan of Buster is when he flattened Ed Belfour during the 1998 first round playoff series. Then Owen Nolan during the 2000 first round playoff series against the President Trophy winning Saint Louis Blues team pretty much carried the Sharks on his back to that stunning upset of the Blues. His game 7 goal on Roman Turek from the blue line at the buzzer is one of the greatest moments in my opinion in Sharks history.

Favorite forward. Same as above for the the same reason but like I had said Joe Pavelski is a very close second. The qualities about Joe Pavelski that I liked were his total heart and his total clutch ability. Whether it was winning a key faceoff in the offensive zone or tipping the puck to score a clutch power play goal Pavs always had the ability to come up huge when it was most needed.

Favorite Defenseman. My favorite defenseman would be Danny Boyle but Marc Eduard Vlasic is a close second. What I always liked about Dan Boyle was his never give up I was never drafted attitude! Danny Boyle was always honest about his play.

Favorite Goalie. My personal favorite Sharks goalie is Evgeni Nabokov but Arturs "like wall" is a very close second. How can you not like a goalie who scored a power play goal! Nabby is one of my all time favorite Sharks. Honorable mention to Irbe for what he did in the early days during the Cow Palace days, plus Jeff Hackett, but especially for what he did in the 1994 first round upset against the President Trophy winning Detroit Red Wings.

  2. Really been liking this series, getting more into hockey and your channel has some of the best hockey history content on YouTube. Thank you.

  3. Vlasic leads all D-men in goals in over 1,000 games with the Sharks. 🦈🦈🦈🦈🏒🥅

  4. I won’t forget we had Nyquist. Was sad he left.
Have a Shark Guerin jersey hanging in my closet.

  5. Wait. Toskala was a Shark?!
Uh…. I only remember him for the 190 foot goal he gave up against the Islanders…

  6. That Karlsson contract is attrocious, with his injury history he will be crippled within 3 years

  7. Most Jinxed Sharks Player: Christian Ehrhoff. Broke teammate Bill Guerrin's jaw on a slap shot (while a Shark) and damaged teammate Manny Malhotra's eye while a Canuck. Oh, and as you might recall, Malhotra played a season for the Sharks, too.

  8. 2020 UPDATE!

    SAN JOSE SHARKS
    HOCKEY HALL OF FAME
    INDUCTEES

    01. 2008: Igor Larionov
    02. 2011: Ed Belfour

    04. 2016: Sergei Makarov
    05. 2017: Teemu Selanne

  9. Jumbo, greatest Shark ever. Only Hart and Art Ross Trophy winner. Joe Pavelski was a better Shark then Marleau. Marleau just played there 100 years. (Love Marleau, got to meet him. Super nice guy, just saying)
