This is a big signing for the Leafs because he hits and block shoots. I could see him on line 3 and PK killer on both lines. This will be underrate signing for the Leafs I think he will be big part of team. Also, he will be 25 years old for this season and he did played on one of the worst teams in NHL for the past three years. I think his defense numbers will jump big time this season. If he plays great I think the Leafs will sign him in multi year deal in first half of the season. I can see him getting between $2.5 – $3.5 million per year for 2 to 3 years. I know on this I going crazy but, I think this is major underrated signing by Brad Treliving. We have the skill but, this is first time we have skill with scarier players. This team is built to win rounds in the playoffs also, having a great regular season.

Great signing, young ,had over 200 hits and 125 blocks, yes his defensive stats were not great but on ANA that is kind of expected. I think Giordano will be great to play in regular season and share minutes with Benoit to get him more confident. Hopefully Benoit is ready by playoffs because his phyiscal edge is exactly what the TML need. And yes he will fight when needed, not great at it but a very strong kid.And of course best part Canadian kid!

Yes Anaheim was an absolutely pitiful NHL team last year and you can use that as an excuse for Benoits numbers but also Benoit was part of that team and could have been a contributing factor to why they were so bad.

I have no problem with one year contracts…especially at that salary. You need depth in the minors and if they play well they're great for sweetening any potential deals. 🤷♂️
Their is a trade rumor that see other ex ducks coming. The trade rumor as T.J brode, Timothy Lijegren, and Nick Robinson and 1st round pick in 2024 or 2025 and 3rd round pick in 2024 to the Ducks for Cam Fowler at 50% less cap hit for leafs that would be 3.25m for the next 3 years and Frank Vatrano at 50% less cap hit for leafs that would be 1.5m aav for next 2 years and depth defenseman Urho Vaakanainen at 875k aav and Conner Timmins to canadiens for Michael Pezzetta. if true or not we will see?

He can easily replace GIO…. No offence ,,, Gio look slower and slower each shift it seemed…. This guy is a beast 200+ hits 100+ block shots 6ft 3 215lbs or so…. Schenn replacement in terms of that grit and toughness… 3rd line minutes better than any 3rd guy they have in that role …. Throw the stats out he played in Anaheim…

Could be good as a pure PK, bottom pair.
