I miss tickets too, nice to keep the stubs from the big/memorable games.

I’ve complained about this for years. They don’t understand how important that box was to some of us STHs. To me it signaled that the season was about to start and it was finally time to get excited after a long summer of no hockey. I loved seeing who was on the cover, what special laminated ticket they had for the season, which coupons were in there. I have saved every single metal and wooden box I have ever gotten. They hold little car bits in the garage.
I’m lucky. I get to see all the games. A lot of people though only get to go to one or two games a season and those paper tickets are a nice reminder of a good time and now they have taken that away from people.
The real pisser though is that now there is no way to discern who has already gotten a bobblehead or other goodie. They used to mark the back of the ticket with a Sharpie so people couldn’t double dip. Now you see these bitches walking around with 7 bobbleheads because they show up extra early and stand in different lines over and over.
I want my f’in box back.

I know at prudential you can still stop at the box office and they’ll print the ticket for you

Programs too. Places used to hand out little booklets to people coming in. Granted most of it was ads. Now it’s just a paper with the roster.

Not only do I miss physical tickets, but I hate the current state of digital tickets. I bought tickets to the afternoon Cardinals @ Pirates game last week. Literally every single seat available was from a reseller for mark up. I ended up having to download some MLB app and make an account for that in order to transfer the ticket from whatever app the seller purchased the ticket from. I miss the days where I could go to my local Giant Eagle (supermarket chain in Pittsburgh) and walk up to the customer service counter and just pick my seat off a map. Then they would conveniently print it out there on the spot and that was that. Plus, I enjoy collecting my old ticket stubs. Stay off my lawn, you damn kids.

OK Boomer. Do you also miss when they weren’t wearing helmets?and when the TV was black & white? Seriously, get with The Times digital tickets are more convenient. You can’t lose them, and they’re harder to scalp. It’s a win-win for everybody. Well, unless you’re old time Boomer like you.

Vegas will give you a print out ticket at the door after you scan your ticket. It’s neat!

I miss using the RFID chips in my STM sleeve. (although tbh it didn’t work very well lol) But anyway, it was cool to swipe my arm and get discounts, use the card to get entry, show off the sewn patch to out-of-towners asking how I got a cheaper popcorn.
I’d love to have tickets if possible, otherwise a card/rfid combo. I hate using my phone that requires Ticketmaster login and cell service.

Likewise…I still print my notable tickets but the charm of a local ticket is lot nowadays and it really bums me out

When I got my college baseball season tickets, I paid a little extra to get the physical ticket.
Good memento for the Top 10 home win we had.

Have to admit, a little part of the little boy in me died when the printed tickets disappeared. There was an excitement when you had these oversize tickets, you felt like you were going to an event, you’d look at them all day.
Now, it’s about as exciting as buying milk.
I get embracing change, and the ease of transfer blah blah, but some traditions shouldn’t be fucked with.

I made a template with the STM barcode, and printed my own set of tickets.
Gatekeeper looked at it all weird, but it scanned, and he let me in.
