  1. Great Show Andrew I enjoyed your thoughts keep it coming. hopefully he finds his game this year and if it doesn't its a one year deal that's my thoughts

  2. I'm very exited for this next season. I very much like some of the new faces in Toronto. By the way I love your content keep going.

  3. Personally I think the leafs had a great season/ post season defensively last year. it was the offence that needed support, in a year where we have a fully healthy AM34 at the start of the season then we need someone to feed him more pucks and get our PAPI to 70 goals. we need to score more in the post season and I think getting klingberg helps with that

  4. While this imo a good video overall, and I enjoy pretty much all of your content, I firmly disagree with some of the things you've said here. I really don't see Giveaway/Takeaway numbers as a good way of measuring defensive risk or acumen. It's by far more common for offensive defensemen to have more giveaways than they do takeaways and as far as giveaways go Klingberg doesn't even rank especially high, coming in at 72nd among NHL D last season (on a terrible team for most of the year). Defenders with similar giveaway/takeaway numbers to Klingberg last year include: Kulikov, Schmidt, Hakanpaa, Andersson, Pionk, Sandin, Chychrun, Ekholm, McAvoy & TJ Brodie (26 takeaways, 43 giveaways). Beyond this, I don't think there's any reason to think he won't improve defensively within our system and with lessened defensive responsibility (hopefully).

I do agree however that the best scenario is that the Leafs insulate/shelter him defensively because as you've said, he does take risks. I think it's a good, smart add as our offense from the backend has been abysmal for years now.

  5. So far it has been real hit and miss signings. Bertuzzi and Domi I loved. Then Reaves is fine but not at 1.35 for 3 years. Then Klinberg is still a complete head scratcher , horrible defender with no toughness at 4.15M? Now I like the Benoit signing if he can make the team or just as a backup. Overpay on Kampf at 2.4M , almost exact compare was Pius Suter got 1.6 M. So far not looking forward to this season with team as is. Still need to address defense. Matthews signing is a sort of positive , I like that he signed but 13.25 is still too much and especially since no 8 year term how bad does he really want to stay rather then just get paid?

  6. He will help the PP cash in more often….I'll wager he will put up decent numbers….but he CAN'T be on the ice for defensive efforts to protect a lead.

  7. Total non-sequitur, but I am actually pretty excited for this upcoming season. Excited to see Domi and Bertuzzi. And if they can stay healthy, I think Knies and Robertson will surprise, and have great seasons (I could easily see 15-25 goals each).

  8. Excited to see how Domi and Bertuzzi could produce with their line mates

  9. I'm still totally shocked by the Klingberg signing at any price and term. Even if it was 1.5M/yr x 1, I'd say pass. He's brutal defensively, makes Tyson Barrie look like Jacob Slavin. Waste of both locker room and valuable cap space. Ugh.. he'll be the new Justin Holl. Don't know what Treliving was thinking on this one.

  10. Personally, I think the Leafs should have signed Callan Foote who got picked up by the Devils. Treliving missed that opportunity. And the Leafs would do well to pick up Jesse Puljujarvi on a cheap 1 year prove it contract. He might just strive with the right combination. What have they got to lose?

  11. john klingberg is a quality top 4 guy. he will be good on the right side. they now have a core of:
    rielly-bordie
    -klingberg

  12. Bertuzzi, Mathews, Marner could be the best line in hockey. I think you put Reilly and Klingberg together, have an all offense line
