Jeff Paterson a rejoint l’émission pour parler de la tâche qui attend les Canucks, à la fois au début de la saison pour éviter un autre mauvais départ et pendant toute la saison pour garder Elias Pettersson croire en l’organisation. 1. if this current management group inherited a team with a healthy cap the canucks would have made the playoffs last year. they are making lemonade with lemons right now and i hope EP realizes this group will make this a serious playoff team in the next cuople of years.

  2. Pettersson has made it clear almost from Day 1 that he wants to win. Not that he wants out of Vancouver necessarily, but that winning is Number 1. He's clearly done his job, coming off a 100 point season where he was also a Bergeron calibre player. There's something to be said for sticking with it through the bad times, but you have to see that progression from an on ice team perspective. The Nordiques were a terrible team when Sakic got there and for his first few seasons, but by this point in their respective careers, Sakic was at least on a perennial playoff team that was knocking on the door of being a contender. He had a reason to want to stick around. Wherever Pettersson goes, he's going to get paid, so it's not about the money. It's about playoff success. This franchise has been dysfunctional for years now, at least since Elias got here. I wouldn't want to stay if I had the choice. I'm getting my money anyway. Might as well be with a contender.

  3. Why should he stay and waste the best years of his career with a team that is mediocre at best, capped out and with a prospect pipeline that is terrible. Is that the current managements fault? mostly not but that isnt EPs problem and he will get paid no matter where he plays. I think he likes the city and the fans but ultimately it comes down to winning and I just dont thik this team will. They will most probably be better but still a longshot to make the playoffs.

  4. If there's a time you want to play the Florida Panthers, it's at the beginning of the season, after their playoff hangover and all those injuries still plaguing them, along with chemistry issues from all the stopgap players they added. The Canucks have their own potential chemistry issues with all the new players on the blueline and depth forwards, but the one thing you can expect is for OEL to have his best game of the season.

I'm not worried about the Canucks resigning Pettersson because it's pointless to worry about something like that unless you're the in Canucks management or the player's agent. It's on them to get a deal done and the Pettersson camp is betting on him having another big season.

  5. Remember when the Canucks chose to extend Hughes for 6 and give Pettersson a 3 year bridge deal? I'm guessing Elias does. This team has done very little to convince a hyper-competitive player like Pettersson that they can win anytime soon. I worry this is a signal that he'll wear another uniform while he's still in his productive years.

  6. If calgary has a bounce back season witch they could honestly cause there coaching didn't mesh with the new players they will be better this year i believe maybe canucks make a wild card spot but honestly i love soucy and cole but on any other team literally any other team there top 5-6 D so the teams gonna need the gods blessings lol
