Just put the practice rink in Surrey.
I often make that mistake — the "reason why". The problem is that "why" is actually a "reason", so you're saying it twice. Strangely, some bits of language just sound right, even though they're illogical.
Patrick Johnston is really annoying and adds little value.
Ownership has committed to spend to the Cap, demanding all these shortcuts to make the playoffs every year, leading to complete and utter failure for a decade, but they can't Google "Lower Mainland Ice Rinks." At this point, one is better than none. There's the one the Eagles play at. It's the offseason. They're not using it. This is getting ridiculous. All this commitment to "winning," but they can't rent out one of the multiple rinks in the Lower Mainland so these guys can at least get together, skate and come up with the plan? I was upset when Bruce was first in favour of Rick, but now I'm on Tocchet's side. Quit mistreating our coaches and players. If they want the team to succeed, start acting like it. Give Rick and his staff the tools if you actually want this team to succeed. Don't tell me you're being frugal now, after spending to the Cap for the last 10 years and you can't afford to rent out a rink in the 'burbs. This is embarrassing.
Does the PNE still have and ice arena? If so couldn't the practice facility be there?
There is no chance of a rink at Jericho. Comical. The stakeholders of that site want their 40,000 people, and there's not going to be room to jam a sheet of paper in.
