this is so gross Peters should be banned forever
i have something for SportsInteraction for Future Hockey bet (Will Bedard break or tie Selänne’s most goals as a rookie)
Great show, thanks for the shoutout as well!
he’s crying for himself, not his victims of abuse
Along with the racism and never even apologizing to Akim Aliu, he's never even been a great coach. There's better options than this guy.
Alexa play Aretha Franklin cry Me a River. That's what went through my mind seeing him start to cry. Hockey is never going to move forward with diversity, inclusion and making everyone feel comfortable when they keep laying an egg when organizations have an opportunity to say this is not right and you don't belong here anymore. Like there's no one else that could have coached this team? I'm so curious about the" hows and the whys" of how this happened.
Even outside of the overt racism and the fact he's not even a good coach, he's also physically abused players on multiple occasions in the past. There are reports from his time with both Chicago and Carolina that he would kick players on the bench or even one time punched someone in the head. Seems like a great guy to have around to develop kids…
The boys spitting facts at the 28-minute mark.
Sucks that episodes like this are necessary but I certainly appreciate your perspectives on this.
Peace and love, gents!
I'm as right -wing as you can get. Can't stand woke nonsense. I think racists should be able to work in hockey.
Bill Peter's just seems like a gross human being and shouldn't be around young men. Hopefully the scrutiny will at least force him to pretend to be a decent human being.
Great video. I believe in second chances, but in Bill’s case, it seems like he is only apologizing because he has a reason to benefit from it, not because he actually cares or wants to make amends.
This grown-ass man tried apologizing the same way I used to try and ask friends of a girl if she liked me in high school. It shows how immature he is. Anyone who shows this level of immaturity shouldn't be anywhere near a position to influence the minds and lives of young men.
Yes Lethbridge lets bring in a garbage coach whose abused players and is unhinged racist. Good job. You know Bill has a buddy that got him that job…
This was a fantastic episode guys. Very insightful look into Peters and the entire situation.
He clearly cries because he thinks he's in trouble. Doesn't say anything about whether he is remorseful or not. IMHO
I like don't this either, but forgiveness is good if he is humble enough and sorry!
Ahh lethbridge making the news yet again.. From marilyn manson getting punched, to the police assaulting a woman in a storm trooper costume, and now hiring a racist coach!
Gotta love lethbridge…
You guys covered this incredibly well. Respect for that. I feel like those are crocodile tears.
Tkachuk-Hughes-Caufield is the most frightening line I’ve ever heard
I forgot this dude even existed tbh 🗿
You know where we’ve seen this before?
Mitchell Miller.
From the first instances of abusive behaviour up until some weak attempt at looking apologetic, not an iota of initiative remorse demonstrated until the moment they can get something out of it.
The NHL puts ‘some’ action behind their lip service, but if the worst experienced by those in the hockey community like Peters and Vanbiesbrouck is that they get reintegrated into the minor leagues where they influence kids getting into the game, it’s a negative-sum gain.
I’ll be taking some time this season to hopefully watch Lethbridge get smoked frequently enough that he gets fired. That’ll be step one for that hockey club getting free of the sort of stink on them that doesn’t come off in the shower.
I forgot this man existed, this video reminded me… How unfortunate.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you $3.00 Bill and the Lethbridge Cement Heads.
Jesse and Julian, I don't think that you went far enough. Bill Peters thrived and succeeded for how long while continuing his racist lens. Peters "apologized" to use Akim's response as fodder for his benefit, in this stance that he can say he has learned and evolved and educated himself. Peters' should not be involved in a leadership role for young persons who are trying to learn how to become a leader amongst peers. Peters is a toxic disgrace that should be relegated to at minimum a lifetime ban from coaching or even being present inside of any sporting community as an authority.
