  1. Myers is a average dman. And could be a good support dman. But the cap space…would be great

  2. No way they re-sign him for next year. He’s fallen off a cliff the last couple years. He’s a bottom pair guy and you can replace those guys easily.

  3. Every team that wins cups has size on D so if he likes it here and plays for cheap… I'd keep him too. Him as a 4, 5, 6 defenseman on the cheap would be good if he brings that Minnesota series snarl to the playoffs. The idiot refs picked on him but he changed the series by getting mean after the Wild ran Pettersson's head into the boards. Ya he got Tyler Minors nickname but the bottom line: the Canucks won that series.

  4. At the point he's paid the 5 million, he's a third pair 3rightd making 1 million. Not Alvin or Rutherfords mistake. How does it compare to OEL buyout $$.

Yes he might be of interest to bottom dwellers…. to get to cap floor. However, those teams have used $retention spots to acquire draft picks. There's nowhere for him to go. Stupid to add $5 payout, and a sweetener, then more money to replace his minutes in 3r.

Play him, in sheltered spots…..ie: not against McDavid. Keep him there to mentor call-ups when the inevitable injuries happen. Move him for sure 3rd or bag of pucks at the trade deadline. Don't bring him back. Sign similar short term veterans next offseason, mix in farmlands to see what they are against NHL competition.

  5. As a 3rd line D… yes ! I think he need less responsibility and 3rd would help him and who knows he might play better with less pressure

  6. The club should consider hanging onto him until next year's trade deadline. A contending team looking for depth on D might be willing to give up a 2nd or 3rd round pick for him. I'd rather take that in return than another depth winger.

  7. It's either Myers or Boeser… sadly, I think they will say goodbye to Myers cause Boeser has not hit his prime. Could see Myers going to Carolina or Minnesota.
