À quel point est-ce bon – Penguins de Pittsburgh

J’ai pensé pouvoir terminer la liste des bonnes et des mauvaises choses pour les équipes, car les tableaux de profondeur ne font généralement pas partie des aperçus de la saison. 1. They will never be non Stanley cup contenders with Crosby, Malkin, Guentzal, and Murray

  2. Left side on the wing looks relatively weak considering the rest of the team but like you said, Cullen can easily step in if need be. Nevertheless though this team can easily be carried by that amazing centre position.

  3. You said Schultz and Johnsson need to bounce back? What about Letang? I'm suprised he didn't get a trophy for helping the Capitals get past the second round

  4. The Penguins are still a top 3 team in the east along with Washington and Tampa

  5. Going out on a limb and saying they miss the playoffs. Age is not something that can be overcome – and mental fatigue is a cumulative thing. This team on paper looks great but they are another year older. Kessel was a cancer last year – could easily be worse this year. On paper it looks good – but something in me says Crosby and Malkin will fall another 1/4 of a step, Kessel will lose his mind and show up not ready to play, the East is now NOT easy to play in and taken together this team, at the end, will look a lot different than it does now.

  6. Even if you hated Pittsburgh, you couldn't predict no chance of 3 out of 4.

  7. Very good observation Guy but keep in mind Rust will play the left side as well and Cullen will most likely rotate in games for Simon keeping Matty fresh throughout the season. Aston-Reese can go down without waivers for this season so that’s good and it allows Jimmy Hayes to get a shot at the big club. As for defense, the 2nd and 3rd pairings need to play more which then allows Letang to play less and to be sharper when he is on the ice. Letang cannot be overplayed any longer. Oleksiak is better than he’s been given credit for and now that he’s paired with a good veteran player who can move the puck in Jack Johnson he should begin to thrive and vice versa. In goal the Penguins are stronger than people think because you have three players coming into their prime and not leaving their prime. This is a big factor in all players. Overall nice breakdown and job. Keep up the great work and fun!

  8. As a fan, I'm excited for this upcoming season. I like the additions they've made and the longer offseason will serve them well. Rutherford and the Coaching Staff see something in Johnson that they are ecstatic about and I think he will prove the doubters wrong. Hockey can't get here soon enough!

  9. Maatta is NOT a top 4 defenseman. Guy needs to get traded and soon! Also, you obviously were not watching the Penguins at all this season because Schultz had a great season again, Letang had the bad one.

  10. If ALL Penguins play to their potential, they absolutely have a high chance of winning it all. Murray and Jarry (Jarry moreso) have very high skill ceilings, but they struggle with consistency. Riikola might be a diamond in the rough, as Jim Rutherford REALLY liked him during the prospect camp. Daniel Sprong is as a dynamic offensive talent as you can get, so if he plays to his potential, as stated in the video, our forward core is SCARY. We have a good infusion of talent and age, as most of our offense is on the younger side of 30 (especially Sprong, Guentzel, Simon, and ZAR) along with our defense. Finally, have one of the youngest goaltending cores in the league.

  11. It’s always good when you have sid geno Phil haglin I could go on and on

  12. Simon was terrible this year, you must not really watch the Pens. Also Kessel wants to play with MALKIN ONLY as his Center. Again do your research please.

  13. I'd say it's pretty good so far. It's going to take some time to get into a rhythm with some of the new players on the team and possible trades that may take place. I think we have a great situation here in Pittsburgh

  14. Pens have some crazy depth at center. They literally have 6 centers signed. I see them using those extras on the wing when they aren't needed to fill in for injury. This is a great looking team. Maybe a little questionable in net depending on how Murray plays. But I think he will have a bounce back season after last year where he had injuries and personal family issues.

  15. I'm really looking forward to Sprong getting an actual prolonged top six winger role on Crosby or Malkin's wing. Need to at least give the kid 15-20 games. The dude just scores in every league he's been in and tore up the A in his rookie season last year. I also think ZAR will be fantastic in a bottom six winger role and he showed flashes of it last year. I'm not really sold on Simon. He's an above average playmaker, but he's a fringe NHL forward and he should be the odd man out unless he takes some big leaps forward this off-season. We'll see how training camp and pre-season goes, but I hope Sprong really gets a legitimate chance with the club.

I also don't think Schultz had a bad year. When he was in the lineup, he was one of our better defenseman along with Dumo and Maatta. He just ran into some injury trouble and had difficulty getting any momentum going because he was in and out of the lineup so much. The D is solid though if Johnson pans out. The Pens coaches, namely Martin and Gonchar, have done wonders with Schultz, Daley, and it's looking like Oleksiak so with Johnson having the pedigree I'm not expecting anything less. The biggest question mark for me on D is Letang. He was just brutal last season and although he improved as the season went in, he completely collapsed in the playoffs. Here's to hoping it was just because of the injury…although that doesn't explain all of the boneheaded giveaways and bad decisions.

    October can't come fast enough!

  16. I wanna say two things. 1. I don’t think Jarry will play back-up to Murray, I think he will play in AHL to improve. 2. The Penguins will not win the President’s Trophy, they don’t care about that trophy.

  17. THEY MAY HAVE LOST IN THE
    2nd. ROUND YES.
BUT THEY PLAYED THEIR HEARTS OUT
    TO TRY & WIN THAT ( 3'PETE )
    BELIEVE IN THAT….
IT'S ALLLLL Blah, Blah, Blah, ON PAPER
JUST WAIT UNTIL THIS SEASON STARTS…

  18. murray is honestly my only worry this season, i think he is only just settling into the main goalie spot instead of sharing it with flower
