  1. Mcdavid loves foegele so no way he gets moved, Lavoie trade is possible, i doubt niemelainen would get claimed

  2. Samorukov is with Pitt's AHL team, im still salty we kept foegele and traded Kostin, kostin is better imo and would have saved us 750K which is big in a tight cap but Mcdavid loves having his friends around

  3. I can get on board with Lavoie and Niemelainen being moved to a team that is willing to use them in the 18 skater lineup. They are on cheap contracts, so teams with enough cap space could take them on. The return will most likely be a mid-to-late round draft pick or a prospect with a similar cap hit. I'd say Holland should try for the latter in exchange for Lavoie (if he doesn't think Lavoie will make the Oilers' roster) and the former for Niemelainen. The Flyers could take Niemelainen and put him on a defensive pairing with fellow fin Rasmus Ristolainen, like we saw the Oilers do with Klefbom and Larsson, who also played on a pairing together for Sweden during IIHF tournaments. As for Lavoie, maybe Chicago takes him and puts him on the wing with Bedard. We'll have to see how things go in the coming weeks ahead of the regular season.

  4. I like Foegele. I think if he producing this season they may not want to mess with the chemistry of the team but if he isn’t then like with Puljujarvi maybe going to a new team for a fresh start would be better. Only time will tell but I have a feeling this year everyone is pissed off from last season so we are going to see a better Oiler team!

  5. Can’t see Fogele being traded; his playoff performance showed promise; his skating ability, his work in the corners and his efforts are notable both from a fan perspective and management standpoint. He came into this year in incredible shape and he’s a workhorse. We’ve already lossed Yamamoto and Klim – two very good players and losing Foegel will repeat a history of bad moves which Oilers nation is guilty of. Keep Foegel!
