  1. I believe NYI exceed 80 Regular Season Standings Points. Without Tavares, more accountability amongst players instead of relying on the "C" most of the time. Addition of Trotz & Lamoriello should create a stir inside the players personally to do better in my opinion… LETS GO BLUES!

  2. Glad Tavares is gone. He was starting to be part of the problem more and more. His ego inflated to the size of Jupiter after his 1st 30 goal season WHICH TOOK HIM 3 OR 4 YEARS TO ACHIEVE. And people say he's a franchise level player- He's clearly two tiers below the likes of Stamkos, Matthews, and Laine to name a few. (Not putting in Crosby because he's stating to show a classless attitude a la Getzlaf and getting away with it simply because he's a superstar)

  3. Tavares stated time and time again that he wanted to stay, only to find out that he was playing us. Can’t fault Snow. I hope he blows his knee out ! The Isles will be fine, a lot of good young talent.

  4. Barzy actually drew the best D for most of the season. If Isles can sort out D & G, they will be fine.

  5. The goal for the islanders is not this year or next year it’s 2021 by that time Belmont will be ready and they will have a young team and a new arena

they need a second line center, first line RW, a goalie and some help on D they have some that in the farm now Wahlstrom, Dobson, Aho Van Sompel, Bellows and ho sang if he can just shut his mouth and need to convince Sorokin to come over from Russia

Need to trade Lee, Eberle, Nelson and Mayfield need to get returns for these guys in terms of high draft picks or prospects not worth giving the first 3 bad long term contracts that will only deserve for a year or two

It’s sounds like a lot and success won’t be right away but most of the seeds are already in the ground just need to wait for the growth it won’t be a long rebuild I’m willing to wait and let Lou do his magic

  6. – The Islanders still have good young talent on their team, Barzal looks like a star in the making much like Tavares early in his career. They have a coach in Trotzy who just won a Stanley Cup, not since Al Arbour have the Isles had a bench boss who knows a thing or two about winning. So it's not all bad probably on Long Island( or Brooklyn or wherever they're playing next season lol ), but…exactly how will the absence of Tavares affect this franchise, at least in the short term? Is next season going to be like one big long Post-Tavares 'withdrawal' or 'hangover'? Or will the franchise simply forge ahead with what they have now? Guess we'll find out depending on how they finish next season. Which probably won't include a playoff push…but the future still looks pretty good for the Isles perhaps.

  7. Isles really improved their coaching and management all across the board. Obviously not going to make the playoffs this year. I realistically see them being in the hunt but not making it. They will become a gritty team that wears you down with size, and also the speed from the youth. They have some great prospects to make the team in the next year or so, such as Bellows, Sorokin, Dal Colle, Wahlstrom and also Dobson. This year is an adjustment year for Lou and Trotz to learn the team completely and take it from there. I expect them to be a contender in 2 years. But for now, I expect them to bring down the GAA, as a result of that… the GFA is gonna have to suffer for this year.

  8. Very low IQ analysis. Barzal is a 100pt player next season. Devon Toews is a star. Kieffer Bellows is a star. Ho sang can bang in 50pts.

  9. Their offence is good enough to make the playoffs but their defence and the goalies are to bad

  10. Thanks for the vote of support EJ, didn't trust you before dont now. See ya in June when the Islanders surprise everyone.

  11. Islanders will be contenders in 3 years with upcoming prospects in Wahlstrom, Dobson, Bellows, Wilde, Sorokin, and Ho-Sang.

  12. Good, balanced review of the team. They have a talented roster. I think the bottom line will be how they react to Trotz. As EJ said, this is their first real coach since Arbour. It should be interesting to see how this plays out.

  13. I think they can definitely make the playoffs. Not for nothing in the NHL half the teams make it. This isn’t the NHL or MLB. Just like the NBA. I feel this way mostly due to Trotz/Lamoriello. I just wish Tv guys would be honest about JT. He wasn’t worth that money and Barzal moving up to face top D pairs will not be a issue. When your a STUD your a STUD.

  14. John travares is no super star. This will come back to hunt him.. he's getting older with a huge contract..

  15. Just an Islander fan here saying that through the first 14 games of the season the Isles are in first in the metro. Soooo, I know it’s early in the season but they are definitely playing like a playoff team

  16. "will this make the islanders the team in the league that gives up the fewest goals in the national hockey league? No". As of February 28th, 2019, the islanders have given up the fewest goals in the national hockey league, at 144. the next closet team is the bruins, at 157.

  17. Watching this in the middle of March and they were dead wrong about giving up the least amount of goals in the league… lol

  18. Damn these "analysts" couldn't have been more wrong. As of right now, the Isles have let up the least amount of goals in the league, are in a playoff spot, and have had a good amount of trouble scoring goals. 0/3 for these two.

  19. I laughed out loud when they said they would not lead the league in goals against. Not really at these guys. But it is just so funny how none of us or very few of us can really predict things. My honest expectations were that the Isles would get 5 or 10 more points than last year. If they could hold onto second place in the Metro I would be happy.

  20. I said they were gonna be a surprise goalies were great worst 2 best barzal anogreat year I believed the whole time rewatching this 2 days before playoffs I predicted them to lose in the vs the jets they are the biggest overachiever team and the team that made the biggest jump in my favourite teams from 21st to 4th lots did but wow I love them I like some teams cuz of story vegas ex some for Canada teams some for players some for stats some for predictions this team went from a prediction team to s fav

  21. 4:48 will they let in the least goals NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO well they did and had the most shutouts and depth scoring was great also the biggest thing for me is that they went from most GA to the least GA
