I'm watching because I was born in 2002 and wanted to see what the cameras looked like the year I was born. Crazy how much technology changes in almost 20 years.
They bought this cup. God it was so fun watching so many great players and hall of famers playing on one team. That '02 year was a ton of fun to watch. Datsyuk's rookie season as well.
I'm watching this because the Tampa Bay Lightning defeat the Montreal Canadiens in 5 games to win their 2nd straight Stanley Cup and because it's now the 3rd time the Stanley Cup Final ends in 5 games total. Unbelievable. How time passes by.
I always felt this was the Wings best and most emotional Stanley Cup win. It happened in Detroit in Joe Louis Arena and Scotty Bowman called it a career after this game.
Nobody talking about the "2 kids and a GOAT line" with Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Hull! That was one of my favorite things to watch honestly. Every time Hull wound up for a slapshot it was a treat because half the time, it was a score lol. But wow, for two incredibly talented young players like Datsyuk and Zetterberg to have the mentorship they did, that is something incredible. And then they became the veterans themselves years later to win a cup and come sooo close to a 2nd (that game 7 loss at home to Pittsburgh in 2009 broke my heart).
You know after the 0-2 series comeback against a physical Canucks team, 7 game series with the Avs, and then this series- those guys had to be spent at the end of this game. The greatest Red Wings team of all time had a tough road to this cup and they earned it.
In 93 I walked into Middle school a hockey rookie… walked out in 97 with the cup. This cup reinforced the silver in Salt Lake. My apologies to Philadelphia. That sweep was for New Jersey.

Scotty Bowman seriously who my Dad named me after was the greatest coach ever in any sport!
Lmao Christopher Scott!!!
That feeling when Larionov and Federov step off so Yzerman and Shanahan can step on, and then they step off so Robataille and Hull can step on. 😳
Definitely one of the greatest hockey teams ever assembled. This roster on paper looks like an All-Star team
Can't believe this was 20 years ago. Time flies by
Shanny laying on the ice w the Jig song playing. Classic!!
20 years ago!! 😃🏒🏆
This team was absolutely stacked.
This was also Scotty Bowman’s last game as a NHL head coach
What a way to go out
that Detroit side was absolutely loaded
glad Hasek and robitaille finally got theirs.
THE GREATEST TEAM EVER ASSEMBLED!
Greatest team ever assembled in nhl history
Carolina had a good run they just ran into a team that wanted it a lot more than they did
3:55 SCORRRRRE!
6:25 the Detroit red wings had won the 2002 stanley cup!
11:10. Scotty Bowman telling Aaron Ward he coached his last game.
Those who know, know this Wings team was literally unbeatable. Greatest assembly of any NHL team ever. It's that simple.
It's funny how focused Bill Clement is on Luc Robitaille crying.
"You will see tears from Luc Robitaille"
"Crying already, Gary. Crying already"

Hasek got robbed of an assist at 3:47.
Still just as good in 2023.

7:11 "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" by McFadden & Whitehead's playing in the background.

6:47 confetti
The Wings HAD to lose the first game to ensure they clinched the cup at home.
