Jusqu’à ce qu’il n’y ait pas de bancs de pénalité avant 1960 !

How great would it be if they just had to sit with the fans in the first row 🙂

TIL Jack Eichel was a cop in the ’60s

Imagine graduating the police academy and then getting to watch hockey almost every night. Sweet gig.

Ted sitting there thinking « I’m not getting paid enough for this. »

They did have penalty boxes, just not as you think of them. It was a single box for both teams and wasn’t physically separated from fans. Later in the 60s, they started with a box for each team, but it still wasn’t separated from the fans.

Believe it or not, straight to jail.

There was A penalty box. Just one. My dad would tell me stories (as a fan) of how there was a guy who would sit between the players and he regularly had to keep them from fighting with each other.
