Keefe if Leafs arent top 3 in the division by the end of December. Replaced by Bruce, despite his new post.

  2. FordEngineBuilder

Keefe just signed a 2 year extension with the Leafs. Unless they completely blow the season and don’t make the playoffs, I can’t see him being fired this season.

  3. trippingtrips13

Quinn isn’t on the hot seat, it doesn’t matter if the Sharks win or lose this year.

  4. warpedashell

I don’t think Sullivan is on that short of a leash. Fans all recognize the previous GM did nothing but hurt the team with one bad signing after another. 3 or 4 stars do not a playoff team make.

  5. MaliciousPearEater

Tortorella? Philly literally just signed him specifically for the rebuild, why would they fire him after one year? What do you expect him to do with that roster? If anything, him and Hart pulled a miracle to get them to 30 wins

  6. Tacosdonahue

Is this list of seats in order of hot to cold or cold to hot?

  7. suckysuckythailand

This is so cap Mike Sullivan is one of the safest coaches in the league

  8. ReadMorBooks

Mike Sullivan certainly shouldn’t be that high. I would argue he’s not on a hot seat at all. Ownership and management have made it very clear he’s not going anywhere.

  9. HanSolo5643

David Quinn shouldn’t be on this list. San Jose is expected to be terrible this season, so I wouldn’t put him on this list. I do agree with Mike Sullivan and D.J Smith being top 3 on this list. I think if Pittsburgh and Ottawa get off to slow starts, I could see both teams making changes behind the bench rather quickly.

  10. Deraj2004

Bowness and Torts should be swapped.

    > “The way I view it is that if people want to bet against Mike Sullivan, Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang, and others, they can go ahead and do so, but I’m going to bet on them and go with them here. »

    -Kyle Dubas

Sully will be fine. Firing him would be absurd.

  12. dylanx5150

No way Berube gets shown the door this season. There’s a better chance that Armstrong gets fired, but I don’t see that happening either.

  13. JasonPlattMusic34

McLellan needs to be higher on this list. It does kinda baffle me that we completed the reverse sweep against San Jose all those years ago, saw the coach on the other side who allowed us to come back, and thought “yeah, that’s the guy”

  14. jimhabfan

Bowness? The front office traded away half the talent on that team. I don’t think he’ll be held accountable if that team doesn’t perform.

  15. TotSaM-

DJ Smith gets 10 games to prove he still deserves a job, in my opinion.

  16. Fun_Commission_7956

i think bowness is gone anyway just because he only signed 2 year and i don’t think he wants back

  17. heimos

They will rotate one to the right

  18. Whyuknowthat

Dean Evason is not on the hot seat. He will get at least a year after our cap space hell is over to do something in the playoffs. So I think that’s like 3 more years (2 more of cap space hell and another one after that). If he gets past the first round in any of the next three years, his seat is about as cold as it gets.

  19. pangaea1972

The Penguins have won 3 of their 5 cups with mid-season replacement coaches; just sayin.

  20. wychwood17

DJ Smith. If the Sens have a terrible October and November again, he will be gone before the first week of December.

Edit to add: No idea who will replace him. I like the idea of Babcock only because it makes the battle of Ontario that much better.

  21. jlando40

How is torts on the hot seat they gave him an AHL team

  22. Bi-SportsFan

Torts is for sure not on the hot seat lol

  23. Ovenface

Most likely imo, Berube and Lambert

  24. Boboar

Torts is not on a short leash at all. He’s the one pulling the leash on his players. Even if he fought the other coach in a game like he tried to do in Vancouver he wouldn’t get fired. Actually they’d promote him to coach for life if he did that in Philly.

  25. Zandergriff67

Evason does not belong on this list. Look at what he’s accomplished while handcuffed with a roster that is ~$15 million less in player salary than everyone else. You could maybe argue lack of playoff success, but I point you in the direction of my first point.

  26. Boring_Pace5158

Sullivan and Berube have rings, so they got a pretty long leash.

DJ Smith can be out by New Year’s if the Sens don’t have a strong November. Last two seasons they were horrible in the early months, but played well as the season progressed. A couple loser points and a win or two, and they could’ve been in the playoffs.

Keefe should be in the hot seat. But it will come at the end of the season on whether the Leafs at least got to the Conference Finals.

The others I don’t know, because they’re meh coaches coaching meh teams

  27. Acceptable-Fold-3192

Highly doubt Berube, he hasn’t been given much to work with. Only Hayes really this summer.

  28. Ryan_Dymond04

Why is Todd McLellan on the hot seat?

  29. MordinSolusSTG

I can definitely see Deano getting canned(especially with another first round playoff loss to make 5 years in a row), for a new coach to take the helm as we prepare to leave the salary cap hell era.

As for a replacement, I just need someone who is willing to move on from old guard special teams coaches that aren’t getting it done. Young with a bit of fire hopefully. Billy G probably wants a longer standing vet but

  30. RaidenDoesReddit

    Iss McLellan not safe?

  31. pepesilvia1227

I don’t think Berube is that much in the hot seat. He’s got at least two seasons to get things back on track

  32. itsmnemotime

sully in the hot seat lolololololololol
