I think getting Kane would make the Red Wings better. There’s more pro’s than cons.
Sure he takes a roster spot, but so what? If he gets injured that wont be a problem. And besides, why would you throw one of the 19-20 year old prospects into a regular role? Plus you get mentorship as a hockey player from Patrick Kane. A winning player.
Very excited for the wings this season, not that I expect them to make the playyoffs but for we can finally get some clarity on a handful of players' long-term future on this team.
Berggren is elite. he was the best rookie in terms of effiiciency…also and Söderblom might get called up, it's only a matter of time.
mix of young and veteran players?
maybe try neutral zone puck possession?

Looking at those top 4 lines they look pretty strong! Only time will tell but it looks much stronger than last year
Simon Edvinsson is still recovering from shoulder surgery and may be cleared about the time the season starts. Having had shoulder surgery myself I can attest it taking some time to get the strength back to normal. I really don't think Yzerman would want to put him into the line up before he was 100 percent anyway. Letting him get back to form in the AHL should benefit him.
I agree that they added a lot of secondary/older players but most of them are just stop gaps. There are a plethora of young kids in the waiting and some are high potential. They will need to earn a spot by pushing out some of the older guy's. And that will start this season. Its iffy on playoffs this year but should be a force next year.
