We dominated Corsi under Peters as well. It’s not a terribly predictive stat for actual goals (aG) or actual wins (aW). Listen to Tulsky on his podcast appearances and he’ll openly talk about how the Canes stopped using shot attempt based stats more than 5 years ago.

hate this stat, especially always hated hearing us consistently get called “analytical darlings” only for us to miss the playoffs under Peters or for our offense to disappear entirely under RBA. hoping that this season is different

Our problem with Corsi is that it treats a 30 foot unobstructed SOG with the same benefit as a 10 foot SOG past 3 people. In goal terms, these are very different expected value.
