This is a great scoop by young gun Quads. Good piece of Journalism.

That’s q cool location and would have a nice community impact for the university and residents of the mountain.
That’s said, I wonder how players will like the commute. I guess they are used to driving considering the trips minor hockey entails

So which SFU alumn/students want to bring up that students get trapped on the mountain every winter because the roads are too dangerous to drive on?

Doubt the players would be too thrilled about this location. This seems more to be a backup, backup plan of 2 other spots don’t work.
AbbreviatedBVH
This makes sense to me.

1. Further away than 8 rinks
2. shuts down every winter due to snow
The most « Canucks » location they could have picked for their first practice facility, haha.

Way too far from downtown — what an odd pick for a location.

This makes a lot of sense as the article noted with SFU courting Div 1 NCAA hockey. Mutually beneficial with SFU providing the land and the Canucks building it. The Canucks also get an NCAA “farm” team of sorts too.
mike10dude
forget what team it was but I remember some nhl team having helicopters that players could take to there practice facility
canucks could maybe do that for people who don’t like the drive up there
