    If the Leafs can sign him for Million Bucks on a team friendly deal to make a push I would take it . He can play a 4th line role and be a PP specialist .Kane stated he wants to play with Matthews. The leafs need 1 more big Defenceman but for the right price on a 1 year deal i would take it.

    We need to improve the defence not top 6..only way this would make sense is if we trade nylander for a top 2 dman and then sign Kane to fill a hole on the top 6

    Sure for Lafferty's money..but really the focus needs to be on improving the D between now and the trade deadline. As currently constructed this D isn't going far in the playoffs

    Let's face it, there's only so much ice time to go around. This should lead a competent GM to realize what he really needs is to find an identity and balance throughout the lineup.

    I think the Leafs first priority should be a big defenseman. They had one and let him go, twice. Schenn. That's on the physical side. On the offensive defenseman side, they have enough. We'll see how Klingberg works out, but I'll say at least he shoots the puck from the point. We haven't seen one of those in a while. In regards to Kane, he couldn't hurt. As long as he's on a minimum deal, like Spezza took. Otherwise, pass. They already have enough firepower on forward.
