  1. Price is expected to play for 23/24….they won't have that space.

  2. They'll likely have to shed the entirely of an equally bad one, let's say a Connor Garland or equivalent in a year or two

  3. Gally got paid for past devotion to habs, broken hands included. Whatever he produces he puts 100% in, all gassed out efforts but let us not expect future big bucks returns for that investment. Wish he could turn things around but I am wishing.

  4. your thinking too much.

hes ganna get injured over and over again and will be sitting on LTIR in 1-2years

  5. Bad contracts are also or go along with too long contracts 8 years is killing the teams because injuries are the major reason. They should not sign 8 years . 5 would be the most . Better safe than sorry.

  6. It's his karma catching up to him. He's a good player who played like a rat, and b!tched and embellished to the refs every chance he had…

  7. He’s great in the locker room and they won’t be able to flip him without picking up an equally bad contract so I’d just say ride it out. Also, I should mention Gallagher was very good for a while. Even until 2021 but unfortunately he broke his hand again and since then he hasn’t been the same.

  8. I liked gallagher a lot. But his style wasn't meant to last for a long time. They should have made Danault that offer instead. Their contract was due at the same time and they absolutely chose the wrong player to pay.

  9. Habs wonr be in contention for at least 2 years, probably 3. It really isnt a big deal

  10. Not to worry. Habs dont have and wont draft any prospects that are worth more than 5 million. They will overpay for free agents and the fanbase will get excuted. This team cant draft lol.

  11. Personally I’m not super worried about it. Because of his injuries and the way he play even when injured I think in 2 years he’s gonna be a main stay on LTIR. It’s sad to see a carrer end like that but the man is now made of paper not much you can do about it

  12. Much more worried about Anderson’s contract, at least Gallagher got multiple injuries throughout years of a rough play style to justify his showing for the last couple season, what does Anderson got for justifying his performances of 30 ish points a season while being healthy and having first line minutes.

Its been 5 seasons out of 6 now that he produces exactly the same way, its almost clockwork, don’t get me wrong he still got value, but we gotta stop acting like he's first or second line material. He’d be the perfect rough 3rd liner with hands for a contender, but not at that price.

At least if Gallagher gets healthier he will be over 40-45 pts easily, if not LTIR is a thing.

One thing is clear, both to be movable will need salary retention, which means only 1 can be moved this year, idk if many teams would want injury riddled Gallagher at 3.25 but i do know that many teams would be very interested in Anderson at 2.75. In theory, the return would be maximized at the deadline.

  13. He'll probably spend 2 more years in Mtl, then go on ltir for the last 2. His money will be available when it'll matter most. I'm not worried about it

  14. LTIR is the best solution for his often injured body ..Keep him around , maybe acting asst. coach at Laval .

  15. It's a big if, but IF he can stay healthy and play like 60+ games, he's still money in the bank for 20+ goals. Question is whether or not he can stay healthy.

  16. I'm fine having Gally around until the kids turn the corner.
Heart and soul and more compete than anyone.
Can't wait to see him pot 20 this year.

  17. Gallagher's contract aged terribly from day 1. If he ends up on LITR itll basically save the Habs cap structure.

  18. I think he could resurge to a 20-ish goal season, but that’s still being optimistic. I don’t mind riding out his contract as long as things don’t get worse for him from here.

  19. why would you use Lucic as a contract comparable when the price contract would hit the scab fans so much closer to home, I mean seriously what is it, 52.5 million dollars at the end of his contract and he played 5 games and has a 20% win record, that single win cost 52.5 million!!! If you want to go further, the totality of his $84 million dollar contract he only played 154 games, that's paying him $545,454.54 per game he appeared in, and with a win percentage of 48.7% and each win was worth $1,120,000.00, can you even imagine!!!! Enjoy your duck hunts carey bring galley with you next time, can help herd the sheep

  20. Guy deserves it for speaking the way he did about Stutzle and pushing a narrative that was untrue. I'm glad he's screwing his team and no one wants his contract. Maybe he should go back to diving, try and draw a few more penalties.

  21. Gardons le le plus longtemps possible. Et après on le rachete. Comme ça. Le moins de temps possible à avoir son impact sur la masse

  22. like the content, the click bait titles are low brow dude, you dont need to do that, it's getting old man.

  23. Won't matter. Kent Hughes may/will spare money elsewhere the next 2 years on Savard, Armia, Dvorak, Evans, Monahan, Allen and a couple smaller contracts even like Wideman, Ylönen, Pezzeta etc.
By the time it could bite the CAP will alreday have been raised, the core groups all secured in the Caufield ballpark. And with more ELCs to add than massive extensions.
