It’s a bad contract for sure, but there are worse contracts ranked lower. Nurse for example has a worse contact. There are only three years left on it and we aren’t tight up against the cap, so it’s not really a big deal. I doubt Chiarot will finish the contract here, too.

No one defends the contract because Chariot was terrible last season, but his contract is valued much lower than the rest on that list. I not sure it even belongs on that list at all considering how little effect it has on the Red Wings cap situation.

*one would see a blueliner who struggles to move the puck out of the zone*
I saw the opposite but whatever, he had a really bad plus minus and it’s all his fault Seider wasn’t getting points early in the year
I’m won’t say Chiarot had a good season, but it’s the fact that he has the tools to put up better numbers that makes me not care that the first year of his contact wasn’t amazing. If the whole team improves including him this season, and the cap goes up, no one should complain about this contract again.

My only real problem with Chiarot is his contract, but it’s nowhere near as bad as the rest of the list.

It’s a bad contract and you can twist yourselves in knots trying to downplay it but it’s a bad signing and we all knew it when it happened.

Darnell Nurse should be number one on this list. He’s a third pairing defenseman at best, being paid like a Norris contender.

Change the fucking record. This is talked about every week. We get it.

I still don’t understand why Gudbranson never gets put in any of these lists and Chiarot does. We have so much cap space that it doesn’t matter. Gudbranson is, and always has been a bottom pairing guy. Chiarot has at least shown that with the right partner and system he can move up and down the lineup.

I just don’t see how it’s a bad contract when we’re in the position we’re in and have the cap space to afford it.
It’d be a different story if we were competing for a cup and had a bunch of superstar players who were are already paying.

Jonathan Huberdeau having a bad season and automatically #4 worst contract. This article is clickbait
