It would be so vancouver to have a horrible year and then they trade their new captain to the devils.
If you live in an NFL market, you'll see all of your team's games. The local Fox or CBS affiliate will always pick the local game over whatever the national game is that week.
When I lived in Erie, PA, they were technically in the Steelers market area, so they would normally get all the Steelers games. But the local affiliates were very aware that there were just as many Browns and Bills fans in the are as there were Steelers fans (Erie is almost equidistant from Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and Cleveland), and they tried to get as many Browns and Bills games on as possible, too.

Seahawks fan here, I kinda hate the Steelers more because it invokes the horrors of Super Bowl 40 when I see the Steelers since we don’t play them very often.
After hearing that the canucks goalie coach tries to mold guys into playing a certain way I can understand why Demko started struggling after his first year and bubble performance. Guy was probably allowed to play his own style at first and then told it was wrong and now plays w/e garbage way he's told and now he sucks.
Nylander situation… if you trade him because you can't sign him for 2024 +, do you get something back that is as good? Nope, I don't see it. You get futures, you get picks and prospects, but you don't get Nylander and his skill for 2023-2024. Does that make your team better this coming year if you trade him to get stuff? Nope, not at all.
Are they going for it this year, I would hope so! So, the own rental and crying over next year and maybe not signing Nylander for the 2024-2025 season and beyond means nothing. You could say the same for many other teams, you don't make your team weaker and worse today if you are trying to win the Cup today.

The perspective is interesting. The Flames should have been better but were pathetic according to Steve. Meanwhile Eastern hockey fans have decided that Florida is undoubtedly a cup contender. The Flames finished last season ahead of the Panthers and since the East is weaker, the Flames missed the playoffs and the Panthers are able to cruise through the weak East other than Boston that was close.

18:00 … Fun fact about the Canucks D last year. If you just look at the top 6 by minutes, their on-ice goal differential was just over 20 BELOW expected. They made some serious changes and their expected top six this year were over 20 ABOVE expected last year. That improvement alone should be enough to get them back into the playoffs.
