C’est le pire scénario pour les Blue Jackets de Columbus

  1. He is a distraction… CBJ should simply get a new coach.

  2. All this was OK prior to Toronto turning on him. It’s clear we have a TON of non biased media and fan opinions. Two sides to every story, I don’t know what went down but it sure does seem they had thousands of “hockey fans” in the room seeing what happened too. Wild right?

  3. Asking players to share pictures on their phones is just plain weird. What business is their family life of his? His only concern is their performance on the ice and as a team mate. It's a mind game and control freak tactic.

  4. The more I think about this the weirder it is. Even if he did just ask for family photos that's still weird lol. Imagine meeting with your new boss and they ask "Can I see the pictures of your family on your phone?" Even if Babcock didn't have malicious intent he's still a weird dude.

  5. Seems beyond foolish for someone with Babcock's reputation of being petty, vindictive and manipulative to pull a silly power move like this at the begining of his second chance. If he ends up getting fired, Babcock has no one but himself to blame.

  6. PR nightmare? CBJ have never had this much press. No matter which way it goes, CBJ is now in everyone's living room, so to speak. I'd bet ticket and jersey sales are up since this broke. THG is wearing a CBJ jersey everyday!

  7. I don't get it. What is wrong with the current generation. We older folks live and die by sharing our family pics with anyone who will look at them. It is a great way to tell someone you care about their opinion. The real problem here is this generation being so woke all the time. Makes me sick.

  8. I dont know why they keep bringing back coaches that clearly failed on some front. Just choose someone else.

  9. How the team asked a couple players to come out and say it was a nothing burger about at the same time Babs did, while confirming the story in the most cookie cutter way and nearly doing legal threats, just screams damage control from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

They really dont want to pay millions for a 2nd head coach and admit they fucked up by hiring this legendary figure in the first place, which might put the job of whoever hired him in jeopardy, eventually.

Who knew hiring a bully targeting young players in a young players team was a bad idea.

  10. Hahahaha The Blue Jackets are a train wreck! Still can’t believe Guadreau went there…

  11. i cant imagine what aaaall these people coming out of the woodworks defending(!) Babcock are thinking!

  12. Ive never heard of spitting chicklets before. And meeting and asking about family seems like an attempt to be friendly that is a hard bordline of super creepy and they would feel forced by your boss

  13. Still think this is some National Enquirer bs. Sure some young kids might have felt wrong about it, but that could also be true if they went by him and he asked how was your weekend.

  14. Bros nose is rivaling Marchand’s nose it’ll be a battle for sure

  15. Just a terrible hiring decision. The guy is a piece of work and has not changed one bit. The quicker they fire him, the better for the whole organization.

  16. Kinda think this is being blown out of proportion, was really suprised that there was an investigation after jenner came out and defended babs. But i still dont understand why he was hired in the first place hes a distraction and his mind games are just weird.

  17. We will know which players complained, as they will be healthy scratches and have their careers undermined.

  18. Yes! Just give another chance to the most toxic hockey coach in North America! What could go wrong?! 💀

  19. They should’ve hired Patrick Roy instead he’s a proven winning coach that knows how to coach the new wave of young nhl players

  20. This is only a story because its Babcock haha. A lot of us grew up in a time where it was super common to share pictures. Also a lot of the morons crying about how weird it is also post pictures Babcock would have asked to see on instagram for the world to see. Would it have been less weird for Babcock to go to players instagram and grab the pictures himself and post them on the wall before the players come in? My wife's company asked her for a picture of her family a couple of times, should I alert the NHLPA?

  21. Fire Mike then Fire Jarmo it's time for a change in that front office it's been a decade + since the last GM/President change in Columbus

  22. The world is so weak nowadays and now it's starting to influence hockey. In a couple of years figthing will be totally illegal and after that checking will be next

  23. I hate that this is all coming to light now… Who knows how long Mike and other coaches have been doing this type of stuff behind closed doors, and how many times owners have hidden it

  24. Jackets fan. I think it’s being blown out of proportion, but it’s still enough for me to say it’s time to clean house.

It’s an uphill battle already to get any respect in the league with a small market, no playoff success, and one of the worst teams in the league last year. We can’t have a sideshow going on with constant media scrutiny, too.

Fire Babs because he clearly hasn’t changed and his time has passed. Fire Jarmo for both the indefensible Larsen hiring and the lack of homework on the Babs hiring. Then fire the whole FO for being complacent with both the boys club and the absolute mediocrity of the organization.

The players and prospects here should make this team a contender in 2-4 years. Blow up the higher ups now and get people in place that’ll actually support them and get the best out of them.

  25. This situation doesn’t seem that big a deal. It’s more of Bab’s history that makes the incident a problem. Move on from him now

  26. My opinion on this whole situation goes like this. What Babcock did, if it actually happened, was an evasion of privacy on so many levels. Their are better ways to get to know your players/colleagues. Whether the allegations are true, and Dregers statement this morning are in the right direction of his employment status, I want to think he's getting relieved / fired with cause, but instead of jumping to conclusions, rather see how the NHLPA goes with their investigation.
