  1. Funny how the baby Sabres choose to fight the smallest player on the baby habs (Xavier Simoneau 5 foot 6 inches.) It's like someone decide to fight Nathan Gerbe (5 feet 5 inches) because he is getting to close to score.

  2. Is great video junk This game absolutely sucked Trudeau and simono were the best players followed followed by Heinaman, Beck, Tourney.Florian ,and Jones were ok . They still could ve been better. Reinbacker was ok. Logan stunk. Roy didn't play great, lucky to get the one he did. Dobsh was hung out to dry .

  3. Buffalo is so loaded though. Savioe, Benson, Rosen…and Jiri Kulich is only 19 and already has a 25 goal season in the AHL and was playing against 20 year olds when he was 17.

  4. Mesar was probably the biggest disappointment for me. Made a lot of turnovers in the offensive zone. Beck looked like the best player in terms of positioning and skating at an elite level.
I wish they would have allowed reinbacher to make more offensive zone entry’s. with his fluid stride and long reach I’d like to see him making those entries as opposed to doing that stupid drop pass intended to stagnate the defence at the blue line. Multiple attempts and none of them were clean.

  5. Owen Beck is the closest to be NHL ready. Most of the team was bad. Mailloux is definitely not ready

  6. None of the so called Top prospects have Size or Grit .Bunch of pee wee's
I dont see any of these guys making the Big team .If they do the Habs are a non playoff team for rhe future

  7. I knew I would love that fourth line, hope to see more of Florian and Parker Jones.

Hated how the French commentator pronounced 'Reinbacher' with a silent 'C'.

  8. Did Owen Beck got a shot on goal or they all missed target?

  9. They looked rusty and lacking in chemistry. Not surprised for a first game.

  10. I think Dobes is pronounced “dough-besh” which could be perfect for a Newfie nickname like dough ball

  11. No one seemed to play with any consistent intensity. The Forwards don’t have the skill either. Good third and fourth liners but we are lacking top end talent.

  12. Here’s my take. Nobody stood out and that’s a problem. Please someone take the bull by the horns and control their own destiny!

  13. Beck was the best forward for Montreal and he missed the net a ton, his offensive potential is still untapped and we don’t know how good it could get. His ceiling is a top 6 forward but if he becomes a solid third line center that’s still great moving forward

  14. It was really funny when, someone asked if Hockey Junkie was in the Comment Section, then he replied 😂

  15. Boy do habs fans love to overreact. We lose a rookie game against one of the best prospect pools in the league and everyone loses their heads.

  16. They actually played OK the first 2 periods. But the first game of a rookie camp doesn't mean a lot. We iced a much greener team than Buffalo.

I thought Mailloux, Trudeau and Popcorn all looked very, very good in the O zone. Mailloux did struggle in this own end as advertised. However, I did like that he showed a nice nasty side. Let's not forget the huge gap in his development from missing valuable CHL time due to his suspension. Put him in Laval for the year and I'll be he improves leaps and bounds defensively. Popcorn and Trudeau were decent in their own end. Popcorn looks very poised overall.

The forwards looked REALLY bad overall. I chalk it up to nerves, rust and let's be honest, we didn't have a ton of blue-chip talent up front.

Overall, I'd reserve judgment until we see more.

PS: For Buffalo, I thought Rosen was their best player followed by Benson. You can easily see Bensons highly touted IQ on full display. Super-smart player. I wasn't all that impressed with Savoie or Kulich. Savoie looks like a perimeter player and Kulich to me looked really lazy. But same applies…it's one game of a rookie tournament. Not enough to give a definitive assessment.

  17. His name is pronounced Doe-Besh. Ya-cub Doe-Besh. Got it Don Cherry? lol I love Don Cherry and how he screws up foreign names on purpose. Humor is not allowed anymore.

  18. Montreal played the game in their own end. When they did get into the offensive zone they could only play the perimeter.
    Buffalo drove the net🤷🏻‍♂️

  19. I was pretty impressed by Roy he had good puck protection a really good first pass was great when he was carrying the puck in the O zone

  20. The Canadiens prospects are like my ex-wifes cooking…looks good but needs a lot more seasoning. The Habs may have been aggressive but Buffalo had much more poise. Buffalo played much better with and without the puck. They are miles ahead of the Habs in development. Even the prospects can't score on the PP. For the love of all that is holy, can we get special teams going. Somewhere in this organization, anywhere. And shoot at the net please. General direction of the net maybe, something. These games do mean something. Remember 2 years ago when Montreal flubbed everything in preseason. Everybody said that "it's preseason, it doesn't mean anything". Well, that lead directly to the worst Habs season ever and a first overall pick. Yes, these games all tell a story. This story is that we are not even remotely close yet. Patience though.

  21. Its just a prospects Game after all. Its a bit dissappinting we lost but we have so many games ahead.

  22. Even though he gave up 5, i liked Dobes.
Other than that, just loved seeing hockey.

  23. Simoneau and Trudeau from the Charlottetown Islanders. This isn't a coincidence, that program turns guys into real pros.

  24. Relax it is the first time everyone is playing together on both side. And first game of the season. Everyone will be mistakes prone

  25. Everybody is ranking Montreal’s prospects at top 5 in the league. I don’t see it. Buffalo didn’t even have all there best prospects playing.
